JRPG (at least I think those are JRPG): Chaos Rings (1, Omega and 2), Drakerider. Fighting games: Street Fighter IV Volt, Street Fighter X Tekken, King Of Fighters-i 2012, Soul Calibur. If you only want one game from each genre, I'm sorry, but I can't help you. Chaos Rings 2 beats 1 and Omega, but I liked Drakerider more than Chaos Rings 2, but Chaos Rings 2 is longer and overall better than Drakerider. Omega's story was better than 2's. Then, about fighting games, my favorite game is SFxTK, but Volt, Soul Calibur and KOF-i 2012 have way more content. Soul Calibur is the only one which doesn't have online, but it's still really cool. IDK about beat em ups and Bad Piggies.
If we're being liberal with term JRPG, then FFT, hands down. If you're strictly looking for RPG and not SRPG, I personally think FFIII is one of the best things on iOS still. Some folks prefer FFIV; I'm not one of 'em. TWEWY is also great if you have a device that can play it and store its massive file size. Chaos Rings? Over-rated drivel, at least the one I did play. As for fighting games, they all blow on iOS (unless you have an iCade or something similar to play them with) -- burn them with fire and stick to your console and fighting stick. Beat'em ups? Samurai II is a good place to start. And yes, Bad Piggies is absolutely worth getting. It's a great game to tinker with.
Are there any dating sims with a male protagonist that aren't yaoi? I don't think I saw any when I searched for "dating sim" in the App Store.

MvC 2 is a very bad port imo. You should pick up either SF4 Volt or KoF-i 2012, which are much better games overall (gameplay, controls and content-wise).
Hmm, does either have iphone 5 optimization? I was also thinking of street fighter x tekken and I might revise my choise to include bastion instead of a beat em up
You just need to get the hang of it. If controls were that bad I think nobody playing online could perform high level combos, resets, block strings, etc. I'd say no to MvC2.

For a beat em up, I finally picked up OMG Pirates. Pretty fun, and not too long of a game..so it doesn't wear out its welcome. The combo system clicks with me, as I feel like I can mix up some combos. The animation is to my taste. The only thing is doesn't have "iphone5" resolution, but I don't really care for this game. Mighty Wardens look fun and there's a lite version. I like that game too, but its really really repetitive.
Just a shout out thanks to those who recommended The World Ends With You back in the holiday sale. I picked it up then, and just finished it yesterday. Wow, is that a great game. Almost 20 hours of solid gameplay in the main story, and I haven't really gotten into the "new game +" equivalent yet, which I've seen some posts say could double or triple that time if you try to collect everything. I highly recommend this game for any RPG fan. The non-sale price tag can be daunting, but definitely one for the tracking apps if you want to wait for the next sale. I know it was the same core dev team as Kingdom Hearts, and like that title, TWEWY does a great job with the "non-traditional" RPG format. Thanks people!!
If midway puts it In there arcade version. 3D models kill it and I heard buttons don't register that good.
