Hi! We are excited to announce our new game coming out soon! It's simple and fun 2D platformer where you help Tacheman and his friends save the residents of Motopolis from the dastardly King Onetooth and his plans to steal all moustaches! The game will be free on mobile devices (iOS and android). We will be updating with more videos and screenshots in the near future, as well as updates on the development process. Feedback is welcome! Thanks!
The game mechanics are simple jumping platformer. When the player picks up a moustache coin they are able to use their moustache as a projectile weapon to destroy enemies as well as jumping on top of them. However, not all enemies can be killed this way or as you face a variety of different monsters. The moustache power up lasts until you lose a life, after which you need to hunt down another moustache coin. Collecting enough gold coins has a dual purpose. One, if you loose all default three lives you can use the gold coins to immediately revive yourself and two, you will need them to progress to the next level. But there is usually enough to be able to do that.
Trailer Hey guys, Please check out the first gameplay trailer for the 'The Adventures of Tacheman' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_nP67XQUWo Feedback would be much appreciated!
Thanks Xatu! (and also for embedding the vid-much appreciated!) He's also often compared to a marshmallow with a moustache, which wasn't intentional at first.
Hi, it looks really attractive, good luck with your project! Any inforamtion about release date and pricing? Thx.
Thanks kronetgames! It'll be free on iOS and Android. As for release date it's TBA, there's been a few setbacks but still looking to release it before Spring ends (hopefully).
I got a little nervous when you said it was free, but the F2P elements sound pretty solid. Count me in.
Thanks for the replies! Spock4Pres, no worries I understand why 'free' would make you feel nervous, but since it's a pretty short game making it paid felt a bit much. But the current F2P model with the gold coins could change depending on feedback i.e how easy/ difficult it is so we're completely open to suggestions. There are three other unlockable characters, each with their own unique animations, attacks (melee to ranged) and part in the story: Meet Fliptache, Grandtache, Tacheman and Angrytache. But cool, glad you guys like it and if you want to help out let me know if you want to try the beta (although it's not yet ready just yet) We made this launchpage thing where you can sign up for the beta: http://tacheman.wiremuch.com or if you'd rather just pm me that's cool too. (P.S rapshin, you're not the villain King Onetooth in disguise are you? haha )
Right, so the main story of the game: You start off by playing the eponymous Tacheman, a retired moustache mode and former private investigator. He is sleeping on the Copacatache Beach when he get's a call from Grandtache warning him that his old nemesis King Onetooth has been kidnapping the residents of Motropolis and stealing their moustaches! As Tacheman goes off to face him, his friends soon follow one by one. A couple of gifs of Tacheman: And one of the first unlockable character, Grandtache:
One thing we're tried to do is to have a bit of fun with the death animations - instead of just the same one for everything, we're trying out context specific death animations. For e.g Also just noticed the cannon animation is out of sync...so easy to miss these things....
News update! After much discussion, we've decided to make the game a premium. One payment and that's it. We're currently tweaking the gameplay as a result. We've also been working hard at making more levels and more secret areas and puzzles in each area. As well we've added a few interactive elements to the environment e.g being able to 'talk' to NPCs: And new hard to find collectables, some of which can only be accessed by certain character's abilities: And finally, within the next week we will be hosting a web browser build of the game, a free demo of the first three levels so anyone can give it a go! We'll post the link here as soon as it becomes available. Thanks for your time! Our app icon
Yay, premium! Also, since the demo is web-based, is there any chance of this being developed for other platforms?
