Here’s a sneak peak of Pocket Minions, coming soon from the makers of VegasTowers and CastleCraft!

Build your medieval castle from the ground up and watch as your tiny minions move in and go about their business.

Set your minions to work, keep them well fed to earn resources and gold… or abuse them if that’s your thing…

Defend your castle from the occasional dragon attack!

Complete quests to learn more about your minions and discover their secrets!

I'm digging the art style, but...

It's almost exactly like Tiny Tower.

The way the castle is drawn may draw similarities to Tiny Tower but there will be many differences in the gameplay for Pocket Minions to distinguish itself from that game :)

Okay, I'll try to reserve judgement...

But am I wrong in assuming it will be Freemium?

    (and release date? ^^)

I'm seriously liking the art though.

Haven't decided on freemium vs paid for this game yet - we're more pre-occupied with adding fun stuff to the game and making the art look really awesome right now.

No release date set, we'll have more to show early next year :D

I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Copying the best elements from a successful game while adding improvements of your own can lead to an even better game.

Yes, I definitely agree, but you have to keep in mind that no rip-off starts with
"This game is doing well, let's do a reskin and sell it"

    Most rip offs start with
"This game is doing well, let's see if we can try a similar formula while bringing something new to the table"
    (The answer is usually no)

I'm not saying this is a rip off, but if there is a similar game already out, the developers have to be very careful to distinguish their game lest it is lumped into the same category.

Besides, I never got into Tiny Tower. ^^

Pocket Minions will be an evolution on my last game VegasTowers, a tower building game that (for the record :) ) came out before Tiny Tower. If you try VegasTowers out you'll find that it's completely different game from Tiny Tower.
Although I am much inspired by the cute and polished design of Tiny Tower, I'm definitely not aiming to make a re-skin of that game, or of VegasTowers, we've added features to Pocket Minions that are completely unique to it to make it stand out on its own.

Hmm. Interesting how are the battle mechanics proposed to work. It would be cool if you could make forgeries and blacksmiths to create armours and swords ( and other weapons bows, axes, etc.) you could equip to your minions. They could level up from battles and gain experience. Perhaps when you level up enough you could make labs and scientists to develope new weapons like guns and modern weapons, and then on to future weapons?

It's going to work a lot like that. Minions with specialized jobs will need equipment or weapons that can be produced at a particular shop. A couple of example jobs available are Dragon Slayer and Hunter.

We'll be revealing more screenshots/gameplay video in the coming month, remember to subscribe to this thread if you are interested in this game.
