Hi Everybody! I' m new to the the forum and wanted to know what everybody thought about some of the educational games that are out for iPhone and iTouch? Also nice to meet everyone as well -Mongo_D
Educational games are great! I may be biased however as I've worked on a couple of them. It's great when it all comes together and you not only entertain but educate. Of course you run the risk of muddling the two and entertaining more than educating or educating to the point of no entertainment. Check out the Oregon Trail for iPad (http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/the-oregon-trail/id307519882?mt=8) for a game that attempts to teach while educate. It was used in the school systems way back when (long before iPads/iPhones of course). Perhaps Math Blaster is a better example.
My kids like Stack the States and Stack the Countries. Nice job making fun educational games. They're the ones actually that asked me to buy the Countries game as soon as it came out... There are a few others, too that are pretty good and fun.
Educational games? Then play physics puzzle games, like Bubble Ball or Angry Birds. Bubble Ball will test your ingenuity and thinking skills to come up with creative solutions. Angry Birds, needless to say, is the most popular game now, which features challenging physics-based castle demolition, and lots of replay value. These physics puzzle games are really very educational, i think.
you think Angry Birds is educational? gosh...games about words puzzle indeed have sort of educational aspects. I can't think of any...inspirational movies work better
use the search function, you can find some. maybe this thread I just found would help http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=1632241#post1632241
Educational games refer to those games in which you can learn some useful or good things. They are not just for playing, but also have meaningful things which can benefit you.
I've got this one. App info is currently processing and/or the app is not yet fully available for sale on the US App Store.
