So I couldn't find any other thread on something like this so hopefully no one will flame me for starting this.

The only "beat 'em up" on the Iphone that comes to mind that I've actually liked is The Simpsons Arcade and OMG Pirates!. I'm wondering if there are other good beat 'em ups. Specifically like 80's/90's beat 'em ups and not something like Hero of Sparta. I'm also not interested in the mediocre genesis ports.

For the small percentage of people reading this who might be confused the term 'beat 'em up':

    I'd recommend chop chop ninja.
it's not like other beat em ups, but I think that's what makes it so good.

Haven't tried it yet. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm surprised there aren't many good beat em' ups on the iphone. OMG Pirates proved that it can be done really well. I'd love to see some good Capcom titles like Final Fight or Dungeons and Dragons: Towers of Doom.

I hear great things, but that doesn't seem very helpful if the OP is looking for other beat-em-up games.

Appreciate the suggestions. I'm looking for something more in the vein of Double Dragon which has a 3D playing field rather than 2D. I feel like its almost a separate genre and if somebody actually knows the term for these type of games, please chime in. There were so MANY on Super Nes, Genesis, arcades etc but seem to be lacking on the Iphone. Touch controls can work really well for these type of games. Again, OMG Pirates is a great example of that. Granted they can be bad too as in the case of Streets of Rage but that was a seriously lazy port of a great game.

Zombies Shock. It's a side scrolling beat em up style, but with guns.

Caligo Chaser is a fun beat-em up/RPG game. Reminded me of classic snes era gaming.

Beat-em-ups have isometric or "pseudo 3D" movement. Streets of Rage, Final Fight, Double Dragon.

Games where you don't move up and down the screen, like Twin Blades, are not beat-em-ups.

4th vote here for OMG Pirates. It's pretty much Zombieville with ninjas.
