Hello! We are finally announcing Ace of Blades, our action-platformer! Ace of Blades is somewhat of a spiritual successor to Spell Sword. Everplay seeks to follow up Spell Sword by taking the formula that made the game popular and listened to the feedback to deliver on what the players want from future iterations. Spell Sword, like Super Crate Box, is an arena action platformer, but many players were hoping for a traditional platformer. Ace of Blades is born from that desire. The story follows the hero on his quest to become the "Ace of Blades" by exploring each world to locate Blades that have special powers, similar to the cards from Spell Sword. One of the coolest features is the physics engine we've built that allows for fun puzzle elements. Everplays main goal is to make the most action packed platformer ever for iOS. Along with exploration and RPG elements (Swordigo is a good example), Ace of Blades will have the same sense of style and humor as Spell Sword. We are trying to get it released around December as a universal game, but probably in early 2013 is most realistic. A one-eyed Armadillo Bandit with a Bazooka? OH YEAH I think that Plant is in the wrong game...
This really does look great and I hate to be that guy, but I have to ask if this is going to have IAPs or just end up being a freemium title down the line. I'm terribly sorry Everplay, but I've bought all your releases...I don't think I need to explain myself further. :/
If the game doesnt sell, what do you expect them to do? Leave it like that? Or fight and try a new formula to make it work knowing its a good game? Its business after all, dont cry over your lost dollar
Im with Lance on this one. Everplay makes great games, but people overlook that fact and they dont get much sales off them. Turning them freemium may be the answer to get them into more devices, and the optional IAPs will hopefully help them fund next projects and to feed their families.
Yes, people tend to overlook that there are persons who makes games and they need money to survive, like we all do
Yeah, we understand. We were young and excited back in the day, but we've learned A LOT since then. We were optimistic in simply creating a game we loved and the rest would follow. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. We took some steps to ensure that we'd be able to make games we love for the long-term. Long story short - There is NO intention of turning Ace of Blades free2play after our previous experiences. As of now, we have no "planned" IAP, but that may change. If anything, it will be OPTIONAL items, like a "Super Slayin'" potion that turns you invincible for a short time in case the area is too hard for you. (along with golden hair and a power level of over 9,000!) Other than that, no IAP to guarantee the unlocking of new worlds or items.
Pretty close to Terra Noctis in terms of level setup. It's a different engine, so the physics will be better and it will be more action oriented than exploration and collection.
I love Everplay! I love spellsword and pinch peeps Well it looks like swordigo. Jump and fight monsters. And HUMOR Thank you everplay any plans on a sequel to terra noctis?
Sounds good to me. Appreciate the response. For those of you who commented on my post, forgive me for this: I can't be assed to respond to you. Nothing personal.
Well everplay' I wish best of luck to you. hopefully it will be more successful than rocketcats games punch quest
I really hope for Terra Noctis to have a sequel. I found it rather disappointing that it didn't make enough money for you guys to warrant updates, as it was a wonderful game (except for the bug that couldn't let you beat the game). I'll definitely be buying this game when it's released
