Any thoughts?

It looks pretty cute. I like the artwork and maybe more people would be into it as we near winter.

Going from the screen shots alone, it doesn't look to be very challenging. You play against 1 opponent and they look like they are close together which makes it seem like it would be very easy to hit your opponent. Don't know how much of a factor the environment comes into play.

 

Initial Impressions

The game is cute, as are the environments, here's my comments:

Before Scorched Earth perfected the tanks shooting at each other game, there were things like Human Cannonball on the Atari and some quickbasic game for the PC that I can't remember the name of - but was two monkeys on top of buildings throwing bananas at each other.

Snowars reminds me of that game.

The gameplay is fine, you set an angle, push to build up velocity and let go to throw. The snowmen react to hit/missed shots in a cute manner, things are well animated.

You can play a quick game, or a "campaign" with tougher and tougher opponents. There are different environments to play in.

The game desperately needs a two-player (probably pass and play) mode! I can see where kids would just love this game, but would probably want to throw snowballs at each other, not the computer.

Minor niggles:
- The snowballs need to make noise when they hit terrain. (And why do snowballs hurt snowmen, anyway?)
- The wind either needs to change less often, or more gradually, or blink or something when it changes, sometimes it is hard to tell (and it makes a big difference!)
- I'd turn the music volume down a tad

 

yeah defo pass and play. i havent got the game but how bout the snowmen throw snowballs at monsters, so the snowmen are the good guys..

 

Looks pretty good!
Although the site could use some work and the graphics could be a little better!
