I'm hesitant to put this in the upcoming games section because it's drawn from an item in pocketgamer's rumor mine column. Let me quote them, so you can judge for yourselves: Sounds pretty definitive, though, as usual with Rumor Mine, there are no links or attributions. As far as I'm concerned, the iPhone has proved itself to be a nifty platform for FPS games -- better in some ways than other handheld devices. Obviously Unreal Tournament would be a nice addition to the App Store.
Tekken got delayed cause movie was delayed for U.S release i was Getty ready for that to it was gonna release mid aug but gotta wait a while longer but that gives them more time to polish the game up
I remember seeing the video demonstration of it running on an iPhone and thought it looked great, but I've yet to really trust PGs rumour mine much at all. Colour me hopeful but not totally expectant.
It kind of seems like their "rumor" mine articles just amount to them posting things developers have told people in confidence, then they play dumb and pretend they're just rumors. ...And that's all I have to say about that!
Gawwwwd this would be amazing. I'm also not getting my hopes up just yet, but holy crap... Goodness, what I would do to be able to play Unreal Tournament on the go <3
That video is a few months old and official from when Unreal Engine 3 was demonstrated on the iPhone 3GS. http://www.anandtech.com/show/2892
Uh, the video is from Anandtech, a site that has been around for 13 years now. It's real. I sat through a session at GDC where engineers from Unreal were explaining to iPhone developers how to use the Unreal engine on the iPhone. It exists.
If you actually pay attention to Pocket Gamer's Rumour Mine then you would quickly realize that the Rumour Mine is full of crap. I don't believe there will be any Unreal Engine games on the iDevice because people aren't going to be willing to pay a fair price for these games. An Unreal Engine game, like say a fully developed Gears of War for the iPhone, could easily cost between 19.99-39.99. Edge has no reason to believe that iDevice owners would be willing to pay that much. Therefore, they have no real incentive to create it. I could be wrong. If Edge is willing to drastically undercut and devalue their own product, and sell it at 25% of it's actual multi-platform worth, then I suppose anything is possible. You absolutely cannot believe, or take at face value, anything posted in the Rumour Mine though.
Ok Ok, my mistake. Sorry for 'attacking' you, MICHAELS. My brother is going to be happy when he hears about this. Too bad he doesn't have an iDevice.
