As I stand here on the subway, trying to use my iPhone with one hand, I can't help but wonder if anyone has any "single touch" games that they could recommend. Basically, I'm looking for something fun that can be played using only one hand since I'm hanging on for dear life with the other. It can be a casual game or something more involved, whatever. Any thoughts? Thanks.
There's a masturbation joke somewhere here....but I'll leave it alone I play Cube Runner one handed all the time.
Drop 7 is one of my all time favorite games for the iPhone and it just happens to be one handed. They have a lite version, give it a shot
The obvious stuff is great for one-handed play: solitaire, chess, etc. Pac Man is playable with one hand. The original control scheme (which is no longer the default, but still selectable) for Karate Fighter was designed in part with one-handed play in mind, something that is handy not just on the subway, but when you have a squirley toddler climbing up your leg. There's an old (version 1.0) youtube video demoing one finger play in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPgsnQeeQng
Drop7 is a good call, also Gemmed!, Kitten Jump (personal favorite), a Kitten Jump-like game called Hopple which is pretty good, Rogue Touch, any of the top down shooters (i.e. Siberian Strike, Hotfield, Skyforce Reloaded, iFighter, rRootage), Board@Work, Up There.... ummmm that's all I got from the top of my head. EDIT: Oh yeah, and the above poster's game Karate Fighter is pretty awesome as well, I never imagined trying to play it one-handed but it's a cool game nonetheless.
paper toss(free)! treasures of montezuma, textropolis, scramboni(free), 7 cities, galcon, solitaire city(I have lite version which is a must have if u like solitaire), metasquares, sudoku, arcade bowling, superball 3, orbitsu, iDracula, cubicman, omnomnom, kyper, papi games. I just went through all my apps(full 9 pages). Joking about iDracula hehe. Oh yeah and highlight my post.
Dammit I mainly clicked into the thread for the jokes . IMO portrait makes it much easier to play one-handed - word games, match 3 games, lines type games, Bubble Bash type games, and some puzzle games are the main ones to offer this nicely. Ooh, the Bobby Carrot Classic games would work well. Landscape without any tilt control is also an option, so Bed Bugs, which is much harder one-handed into the bargain; Toki Tori, Peggle, SnakeGalaxy. Hmmm more one-handed-friendly games would be nice.
http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=15650 I recommend Ion Charge, It's great. One thumb needed for play.
Drop7 - Got it yesterday after staring at it for a long time wondering what the hype was about. No regrets whatsoever. The most original concept, at least to me, and the best music ever.
Yeah, but on the Tube? It's far to delicate. One slight swing in the wrong drection and it's bye bye Doodle.
