      I'm seeing these sentences everwhere, like "coming in the next FREE update", wha...?


      Seriously, is there anything like that? Paid updates?

      Nope. Some devs may lock the new content brought with the update behind a paywall ( DLC via iAP) but we haven't seen any paid update.

      Developers can choose whether to release new content as a "free update" for their existing game ...or.... as a new, separate game, which you'd have to buy.

      So if developers are offering a "free update" it's a good thing for those with the game already.

      "Doh, I hate it when developers maintain their game & give me free stuff"

      Weren't there paid updates back in the olden days of the app store?
