Just cheking my twitter i found this: http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Other/Tomb+Raider+2010/news.asp?c=18872&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+PocketGamerLatestNews+%28Pocket+Gamer+-+Latest+news%29&utm_content=Twitter so that makes me think that Lara could como to iPhone Will it work ? What do you think?
Of course! There were some Tomb Raider games released on the PSP, and the iPhone 3GS/3rd Gen Touch are just as capable (if not even more capable) at running such games.
Hi, I had Tomb Raider on my Dell Axim ppc a few years back so it would definitely work on the Idevices. Been one of the games I have been hoping to see. David
Let's not forget that the original was a launch game for the Nokia Ngage. I suppose it depends which one you'd like to see, but the older ones would definately work (performance wise... I imagine the controls being a bit iffy).
Hi, This is a link to a screenshot of Tomb Raider for ppc. http://images.eurogamer.net/assets/converted/pics/screenshots/tombraider_ppc/ss_preview_jun01b.jpg I think the controls would be quite easy to do on the idevices. Keep in mind, the game that screenshot is from was done four or five years back, so quality would be quite a bit better. David
It'd take some thinking up to get a new control scheme working. While it won't be perfect, it'll satisfy most people. They're be too excited with the novelty aspect of it to really care if they can't make a precise jump.
Is that a single stick and four buttons? I'd like to see Halo myself. I bet that'll happen after the ipad.
Halo is in coopertaion with Microsoft, not happening. I read in Nintendo Power that a DS Tomb Raider would be released, will that take the place of this?
controls will be everything. there are too many anticipated games in the AppStore that fall flat due to the controls (I'm looking at you, rayman and duke nukem). it doesn't matter how good a game is, if the controls suck, so will the game.
Most Pocket PC devices had a directional pad. The L and R onscreen buttons are probably to nudge left and right. We'll see Halo only when Bungie has completely separated from Microsoft. I doubt that's happening anytime soon, certainly not before NOVA 2.
Halo won't ever come to a platform without Microsoft's approval. Even though Bungie has reverted back to a third party developer, Microsoft owns the Halo IP. Bungie is free to develop titles for any number of non MS platforms these days... just not Halo.
I don't know why controls would be a problem. I've only played on an old PC version but it never seemed exactly complex. I rekon it could be pulled off. Is there any legal stuff holding it back? Or like owned by Sony who would do a crap irrelavent game?!
