And I'm not talking about Apple's commercials, I mean an independently made commercial? Just curious if any devs chose to promote this way. I do rememeber hearing of VH1 playing commercials for their Intellivision app, but that's all.
In the UK, network Orange had an advert promoting their app for cinema times and special offers. But that's not really the same as a small time dev...
Adult Swim advertised their '5 minutes' game back when it just came out. But other than Adult Swim, the only ads for games I've ever seen are the ones on iPod Touch commercials
CNN promotes their app on their network. Also Adult Swim, as others have mentioned, run their own ads. They have one airing right now for Robot Unicorn Attack
Really? I just did a search and got two apps. One of which is the one which got it's own add, Powerpuff Girls Snowboarding.

It doesn't make sense for devs to spend the money for a TV commercial for an iPhone game. Most of them barely make a profit anyway. It would only make sense if developers could charge a fair price for their games; unfortunately, whiny iPhone gamers throw a temper tantrum any time a game is priced higher than a dollar or two. It's downright pitiful.
