Wayward Souls +14hours of gameplay, and more to come when update will be out (the only rogue-like element is permadeath -but you keep your coins, loot, upgrades and you can start from what dungeon you want -is not like you lose everything and start from zero -is a great ARPG)
Final Fantasy V, VI +60hours each
    TWEWY +46hours
    Chrono Trigger +60 hours
    Shin Megami Tensei +70hours

edit: i finished all of them with 90% of the side-quest completed as well and i can say they are the best rpgs you can get on your device
the gameplay time -can be diffrent for every player.

I second Bastion, one of the most original and best RPG of this decade -any platform- and Oceanhorn, finished it today and its a really good homage and the closest game to Zelda you will find on the AppStore.

Avernum is pretty good, it can be frustrating, but Avadon seems a bit too streamlined.

I'd recommend the Baldurs Gate games but the iOS versions are the beyond awful Enhanced Edition nonsense; which puts me off. I'd also I say KotOR but with no word on the sequel... I'd just want both or why bother?

The Quest and Undercroft are solid dungeon crawls that deserve more attention, especially considering all the terrible crawls released for iOS that people eat-up.

*this topic also demonstrates a hilarious lack of sense about the genre. GTA:SA, really? TWEWY, IB3...

Having now played through Averrnum, completing 1 major quest, I can safely and overwhelmingly not-reccomend it.

The combat is incredibly dull and only becomes more so as the game progresses since new options really don't become available and the spells stay utterly boring. The quests are also incredibly dull, mostly fetch, all very cookie cutter... of course there are a few, very few, exceptions but even they're not good enough even to really mention or impact my overall impression. Interesting party design does not exist, fun multi-classed options are very weak and there is very little you can do to combo spells and abilities together in any interesting ways.

Really it's just a long, long, game which is mostly cookie-cutter, very repetative, not-rewarding and feels like a grind. The early game is by far the best but it begins to tapper off quickly at the mid-game. I forced myself to get as far as I have and will be uninstalling instead of pushing through the last 2 major quests, it's just more boring predictable combat anyway.
