    Hi guys,
I love Super Mario Bros. and I'd love a port of that game for the iphone, like super mega worm. But why is there no super mario game?

Since they're directly owned by Nintendo, they're probably trying to keep exclusivity on their own devices and consoles.

There are a few similar platformers that you should definitely check out.

Me too I would just adore a Super Mario Bros game for the iPhone, but alas, I think that as Nintendo and Apple are two companies that are competing that may be one of the many reasons why there isn't.

    Just my guess...

Mario Hates the iPhone! But seriously Nintendo and Apple are sworn enemies so we will never see an app store port for mario

The same reason why there's no Halo games on the PS3.

What's next, someone will ask Microsoft to release Halo on PS3?

Well, Frogatto could be Yoshi. Same tongue attack anyway. Pizza Boy is just excellent, and becomes very challenging very quickly. He runs a bit like Mario.

I think Nintendo could make much profit with an iPhone mario game.

    *sigh*

There are emulators though, not very good ones, but they're there.

Regarding an official Mario game, well people buy Nintendo hardware for Nintendo made games.

Would they make money in the app store? Sure, but they'd end up losing in the long run as they'd give people one less reason to buy their hardware.

Also why share the profit with Apple when Ninty is already selling their games and hardware like crazy all by themselves?

I can't believe how many people ask this.
