"Satan's Zombies" for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch has been finished and submitted to the Apple app store for approval. It's a game where you play as a motorcycle rider in a zombie post apocalypse with gameplay inspired by Road Rash and Carmaggedon. Ingame trailer: Ingame screenshots:
LOL... i really think that icon needs to be made to give a one-look representation of the game, but the artstyle is quite different, that it looks more like a kiddie game on the icon, than it is on the actualy game itself.
The artstyle is great. I really like comic book style cel shading. How much will it be? Control options?
It's great to hear that this is finally getting released. The game looks fun, but I really dislike the graphics, because the environment and characters are 2 completely different art styles... FYI, for all the RoadRash fans, check this project out: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/darkseasgames/road-redemption and prepare for an erection.
Glad you like the art Game will be free and ad supported, we'll release an update with in app purchasing to remove ads as soon as possible (hopefully in the same week of release). We're using tilt for the time being, if enough people make a noise we'll consider adding in touch controls. For what its worth virtually all the playtesters had only good things to say about the tilt controls saying it is some of the best they've ever seen in a game, I'm optimistic the greater iPhone gaming population will agree Yeah sadly it's a budget issue, we'd have loved to be able to tighten up the graphics a bit more but simply didn't have enough time or money. We wanted to do outlines for the buildings but it led to some issues, we might revisit that though and see what we can do about it! If the game does well then that is definitely an option, but then again I'll be happy if it just makes its money back But yeah it's the typical triaging of the development process to get the game out the door... Yeah I saw that some time ago, looks great! Hopefully I rated the game appropriately. Funny thing is we were going to make the game MUCH more violent (think limbs being cut off/decapitation, way more blood, etc, etc) but because of budget and a possible shooting of ourselves in the foot by way of age restrictions we ended up with just the basic zombies falling apart and some other relatively minor stuff
Thanks for answering here dev. Hopefully the art will be updated to match. But lets see whats here: -Motorcycles -Zombies -Endless Driver This could do well. Runners are popular on the appstore.
I'll look into adding onscreen controls after release but I would hope you guys are open minded enough to at least try the tilt
I'll try it. By the way: Ideas for bonus riders: Sasquatch A skeleton wearing biker vest and helmet A viking A raptor.
Or maybe a skeleton wearing a black biker jacket, spikes coming from its shoulders and a flaming skull. Dont forget chains as a special weapon. Now that I think of it... it sounds kinda familiar. I like tilt controls in some games and this game will definitely be one of those. However, I sometimes get bored of tilt, because either it feels too casual or I cant because of other factors (like I cant play it in school, or Im way to sleepy to use tilt - sometimes both). I really like the controls in the game called "Into the dead", for example.
We've added touchscreen control option (can be enabled from options screen): http://i.imgur.com/i3VRHtG.png Will submit it as an update as soon as Apple publishes the game
