I was thinking, since the Unreal Engine 3 is available to devs, an iPhone company should work on this. Since I'm pretty sure bringing the full game on the iPhone 4 wouldn't be really possible for reasons such as the price model and app size, I was thinking they should do the same as ideaworks making Call of Duty Zombies for activision. I mean think about it, it would be just perfect. They could sell the game for 10 bucks... And with Game Center and online play its just gonna be amazing. Someone who knows how to contact Epic Games please do it. It would just be crazy to have that I really hope it's gonna happen. They would make so much $$$$$. Edit: Sorry!! Wrong section. Mods move this lol. Sry for the heart attacks!!
Oh my god I hate you. I just got so excited it's ridiculous, and then opened this and my mood changed drastically. Please post stuff like this in the correct section.
They wouldn't sell this game, if it existed, for $10. Try $20. This thread is a pipe dream. Pie in the sky. There will never be a Gears of War on the iDevice.
Not to mention the fact that it's published by Microsoft. And that it has never been releases in a non-Microsoft platform.
Lots of people said there would never be idevices too. With the rate of improvement in technology this is maybe 6 months to 1 year out.
As Nolan took Leo for Inception, CB has some free time to play with the iDevice I highly doubt that! If MS office can be on a mac, why not an MS game? Only if the Zune HD has the OS that can run GoW, they'd still want to sell it on the iDevice for the MONEY! There are about how many million iDevices out already?
Hum even if it's published by microsoft, that doesn't mean it can't be on an iDevice. Microsoft does not own the GeOW ip... Epic could easily find another publisher with as much money as microsoft games studios if they wanted to. The publisher doesn't own anything, they just fund projects to have their names associated with the games and of course they get a % of profit but that's it. And if microsoft sees a real benefit in releasing this game on an iDevice there would be nothing wrong with doing that.
This won't happen (unfortunately, cos I love gears - obviously! Check my sig!), I would imagine you would have better luck if you purchase one of the new windows 7 phones launching nxt month. They've got xbox live on them, so I could see Microsoft leveraging gears to get people to buy into their new phone os.
That makes a lot more sense. Then again, the Unreal 3 engine doesn't run on Windows 7 mobile. BTW, you are right that Epic owns GoW, but considering that it has never been released on the PS3 (where it would make a killing) I would assume that they have an exclusivity deal with MS.
