I'm getting very bored with lurkers stealing all the Promo Codes for apps. Could we please make the Promo Codes/Contests part of the forum into being for members only? This might help..

    Cheers
    Steve

How can you be sure it's lurkers "stealing codes" and not forum members taking them without saying anything? ;)

It's not really stealing if a developer just posts them for anyone in the entire world to see.

The best way to solve this is encouraging devs to only give them out through pm.

Haha word. Stevie this will always be at the descretion of the developers
and how they wish to disperse promos for their games. The only fix I can
think of is to force people to log-in to view certain threads.

But that's not the goal of the moderators here though as their intent is to offer
this great forum-site with the availability of news to everyone, member or not.

Greedy. Promo codes are not released to get reviews on the app store, or to reward 2-month members like yourself, but simply as marketing. Promo code threads can get thousands of views and the devs don't care who gets their game as free, only that more people know it exists.

A lot of devs do care. They'd rather get feedback than have someone play their game, delete it and never speak of it to another living soul. Each to his own.
