Hell, yeah. It looks like it'll be 3D so definitely not the original, but I still love Rayman, so I'll have to check this out when it's released.
The most generic, derivative, "by the book" platformer of all time and Gameloft? Sounds like a perfect match to me.
I was kind of thinking the same thing. But considering the lack of pretty much any decent 3D platformers in the App Store (and you have to admit that Rayman is at least decent), I'll be keeping my eye on this one.
"Platformer." And yes, quite possibly actually. Mind you, "decent" in my book is not exactly a compliment.
I am interested if it's a port, however if it's made my Gameloft, I'm not. If it's made by them it will probably be short, shallow and (in my opinion) boring. Some of you may already know that I don't really... well, like Gameloft or their games.
To be fair, their actual ports (rather than their clones) have all been very faithful to the originals, including all content and even enhanced graphics (like Driver and Earthworm Jim). @Gabrien: "Decent" many not be a compliment, but it's a heck of a lot better than "nearly unplayable," which is how I would described previous attempts at 3D platformers for the iDevice.
If this is like (or even IS) Rayman 2, then... OMG!! I'm a freakin Rayman fan! EDIT: Btw I stil got the Rayman 2 Box somewhere here between all these old games... xD
I would disagree. Castle Of Magic is a great platformer, possible the best on the platform, and it is also by Gameloft. Really looking forward to this.
As soon as I saw the word Rayman, my heart skipped a beat. Maybe someday a Rabbids game will come. And not just that little Rabbids Go Phone app either.
