~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ UPDATE 2: Beast Squad is now available! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ UPDATE 1: Beast Squad has been approved by Apple, and it will be available on Friday, September 30th! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hello! My name is Max Besong, and I am a college student, developing games on my own as a hobby. After many months of hard work, I've just submitted my first iOS game to Apple for approval, and I'm overjoyed to finally present it to everyone here. Beast Squad is a half puzzle, half action game in which the player must guide his or her "beast" across stages filled with numerous obstacles. The catch is that the player has minimal control over the character once it starts moving, so he or she must place floating trampolines (of the rocket-powered variety) throughout the stage to bounce the beast to safety. Using fewer trampolines will net the player a higher rank at the end, and multiple pathways through most of the 60 stages give plenty of incentive to replay them. When moving, each of the 3 playable characters has a different one-touch play mechanic, allowing for a variety of level designs—some more puzzle-oriented, others focused on fast-paced action. Features: Half puzzle, half action gameplay 3 playable characters (a flying squirrel, a squidbear, and a sleeping cat tied to balloons) Each beast has its own simple one-touch play mechanic 60 levels with multiple paths to explore Rankings awarded for completing levels using fewer trampolines Collect hundreds of berries scattered around the levels 21 in-game achievements (I apologize for the quality of these next two videos. I did not have very many options at my disposal when making these, and I am not very satisfied with how they turned out, but it's best that you at least get to see the game in motion. I promise the game runs much more smoothly and looks a lot clearer than these videos appear!) Trailer: If the approval process goes smoothly, Beast Squad is scheduled to be released on Friday, September 30th. It will be priced at $1.99, and it can be played on iPhone 3GS and up, as well as iPod Touch 3rd gen and up (sorry if you have an older device, but I used Adobe's AIR for iOS to build the game, which does not work with earlier devices). I am extremely excited to finally let everyone play this game I have been working on for so long!
