Sure, I suppose. It's a fairly straightforward RPG. If I had to describe it, I'd say it plays like Super Mario RPG (though it's turn-based, not real time; there are no interrupts), is presented like a PSX Final Fantasy (drawn backgrounds and 3D models overlaid), and has a fairly long and decent story. There's plenty of replayability, too. Multiple endings and such.

Think level cap's going to increase more and additional PUB and bosses are to be added?

Forgot what Omega's level cap is at now, but im pretty sure it received level cap increases fairly consistently. They added more bosses that balance you out too, and a bit more stuff to get.

As far as the story is concerned, do I have to play the first two games to understand anything that's going on in this one. I'm thinking about skipping the fisrt two and just playing this one.

It's very much like the FF series, you can play any of them and in any order, they don't depend on each other. I highly recommend this one. :)

I wish it was universal. Went with the iPad version because it looked more like a couch game.

Yeah. I don't mind paying $17 for a good game but when you have to buy it twice to play it on an iPhone and an iPad that's kind of lame.

Especially lame when it got good updates, but never an iPhone 5 optimization. Should cut that price in half it it's stuck that way.

    Just finished the game.

The ending said it was to be continued.

What is the sequel? is it Chaos rings Omega?

Omega is the prequel to 1, and Omega-CR1 and 2 happen in different universes.

I didn't warm up to the first ep. but really loved ep. II. "Good updates"? Is it worth another play-through?

I bought it right when it came out and remembered not having much room to update, so I eventually stopped playing for a while. But since I never finished it on my iPad, I just bought it for my iPhone. And I'm glad I did. Optimization or not, this is one of the best RPGs I have.

There's an online RPG coming this year called CR Sigma. It's not a direct sequel, but it still looks cool.

    No word on CR3 though.

Man, I hope they release a CR3 still. This online trend is a bummer. We'll never be able to sit back 20 years from now and nostalgically play one of these online-only games because it will no longer be hosted on a server somewhere. Oh well. Not a fan of the temporary I guess.

Wait they announced 3??? WHERE??? OMG google here I come!

In other news, I got the new iphone6 128gb and thought I'd throw this series back on it. Sadly this game doesn't run. I hear sounds but the screen is black. Can anyone else confirm this for me on ios8?

Yeah, there's a CR3 thread here on Upcoming Games. Looks... Interesting.

Bummer that SE doesn't have more apps ready to update when iOS 8 hits. But this time around, they updated Chrono Trigger right away! Hopefully, they'll follow it up with the CR series and any others that need the update to work.
