However, when I launched Cookie Clickers 2, all I got was this... 64-bit Windows 10 build 14393.187, 64-bit iTunes 12.5.1.21, running iOS 10.0.1 on a iPod touch (6th gen) from Canada. Yeah I know it could be annoying to have 3 facebook friends in order to play the game but this is exactly the same methor google used when they started gmail's service: to have a Gmail you had to be invited by one of your friends. Cookie Clickers 2 at the moment is an "invite" app/game as well. To be full honest with you guys the reason is not to make it an "exclusive" game but just to test how our servers and the game itself will respond. If we did a normal soft launch, without this invite system, at day 0 we would have a critical amount of users anyway (even if we launched in 3 countries: you perfectly know how to do an CA/AU/IT iTunes account ). With the invite system users are growing every day in a smooth way. With Cookie Clickers 2 we've added a lot of features but the main one is the syncing of your progress and profile in the cloud with our servers. That means that now you can play CC2 on one device and then play the same game with the same progress on another one (from iPhone to iPad for example) like every game that is "respectable" at the moment (Hearthstone or Clash Royale anyone?). Cookie Clickers received a big public success back in the days (3 years ago): as i said we're speaking of MILLIONS of players (800.000 players in one day). Even if in 3 countries there are just 1/100 (and that's not true i think) of them we're speaking of 10.000 players in the first day. If something went wrong it will harm the product and our company way worse than this invite soft launch so we need to be prepared (we're not Niantic... even if we're getting there ). And let me tell you a big truth: everyone will be WAY more ANGRY if they download the game and servers are not working than if they see invites Thanks to this soft launch we're testing the load of our servers gradually with players growing every day by small numbers, that is helping us very much in studying the response of all the infrastructure. When the game will launch, in 3 weeks (i'm revealing now in this forum for the first time the official global launch date: 12th October 2016), this invite system will be removed. Thanks for the patience guys. That said, _hnng_, could you plz tell me details of what are you experiencing? Because everything should work fine at the moment with invites... could you plz be so gentle and explaining me better what's happening to you? What device have you got? What OS? Thanks in advance. _hnng_ Well-Known Member Apr 2, 2016 48 0 0 #9 _hnng_, Sep 21, 2016 Everyone is entitled to have their own strategy...but a lot of people will delete and never play your game for the fact that you are requiring to connect to FB AND invite friends (who have to accept). Not the best way to launch this IMO I am on iPhone 6S with iOS 10. I click on send invite, select friends, then click send. Nothing. It takes me back to the invite screen, so I click on invite again. The same friends show up that I just sent invites to as if I never sent them the invite to begin with. Jayg2015 Well-Known Member Jan 5, 2015 3,734 41 48 Male Player 1 Liberty city #10 Jayg2015, Sep 22, 2016 I don't have friends to add to this damn game. I've been playing the first one forever now and this is quite annoying. Sorry but I even made a different account in another country to try this out just to be put out with having to bug everyone on my friends list and then all saying no. Sequence Well-Known Member Jul 15, 2012 262 1 18 #11 Sequence, Sep 22, 2016 Anyone get this to work yet? I'm probably the only one of my FB friends that has a Canadian account. I'm really interested in giving this game a try but this is the first time I ever saw a soft-launch that is locked behind Facebook invites. It's baffling. _hnng_ Well-Known Member Apr 2, 2016 48 0 0 #12 _hnng_, Sep 22, 2016 @lSoLlAKirA See my point. @Sequence I doubt anyone will get to actually test this out while it's in soft-launch. Just have to wait until its globally released......... lSoLlAKirA Active Member Apr 29, 2016 43 0 0 Web Marketing Manager @ redBit games Rome #13 lSoLlAKirA, Sep 22, 2016 Hi again guys. Here i am again... giving you the news you were waiting for As you did we discovered a bug on iOS that didn't let people add new friends if the close the app after the first install. We've decided today to remove the invite process in the only way possible without sending an update to Apple's approval. Everyone will find the three founders of redBit games in the 3 friends requested to play So if you see Massimo, Gabriele and Francesco don't worry, they are not evil person that you didn't know were your friend on facebook, but just three guys trying to do their best in making games. That said, unfortunately, to see this happen you have to delete the app and install it again from the store. The fix is live at the moment so, just have fun! Just to answer some of you: This was not intended to be for the global launch but just for the soft launch. Our plan for global launch was having the normal game from the start. We planned this invite thing only for these 3 weeks of soft launch. Honestly is working "not so bad"... beside the bug. That said "a lot of people" will delete our app as you said but a lot of them tried to invite friends to try it. As i said, it's something that we thought to be "esclusive", as for a beta version of a such hyped game. Maybe we were wrong, time will tell (or simply global launch will ). _hnng_ Well-Known Member Apr 2, 2016 48 0 0 #14 _hnng_, Sep 22, 2016 @lSoLlAKirA Thanks the quick response and the fix! Works for me now. Much appreciated! Sequence Well-Known Member Jul 15, 2012 262 1 18 #15 Sequence, Sep 22, 2016 Now that's looking out for your gaming community. Thanks a lot, I've been excited to play this. Pyapiopi Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 249 0 0 #16 Pyapiopi, Sep 24, 2016 Can anyone clue me in on how to play? I'm stuck at the screen that says you need to invite people. I've connected my facebook account but it won't let me send requests. Meeseeks Member Jul 25, 2016 13 0 1 #17 Meeseeks, Sep 24, 2016 Was able to start playing thanks to the fix. I am a bit confused as to what is going on with the "More" section. It will have a 1 on it but doesn't show what changed when I click on it and it comes back not long after I exit that window. I first thought it had to do with the leaderboard but it seems that the position didn't change. Also maybe if we could show where we are on the leaderboard. Jayg2015 Well-Known Member Jan 5, 2015 3,734 41 48 Male Player 1 Liberty city #18 Jayg2015, Sep 24, 2016 Glad u fixed this. I logged over 100hours on the previous game. Thanks for your patience again, it means a lot to me That said, let's answer your questions: It looks like there is something that didn't work for you. Try to delete and install the app again. The flow should work like this: after you connect with Facebook you should find 3 friends that are playing the game even if you this is not real. You will see the actual friends that are playing the game if they are 1 or 2 and the empty slots will be filled people from redBit games. So you don't have to invite anyone actually to play the game. Just write me again (in PM if you want) if anything doesn't work. Ok the "more" section has got something that is not clear and we want to change so just let's say at the moment there's a bug regarding the "one" appearing in the corner. At the moment that "one" is warning you that you have another video to see to gain a golden cookie or something like else. But we perfectly understand that it's not clear/useful and we will change how this work with the global launch. Regarding the leaderboard you should already see where you are. You see the first 3 in the world and after them you just go down to a slice of people in which you will find yourself depending on your position. This game won't have any notification or request via Facebook... and i mean ANY. The Facebook log in is only used to save your progress and use it through multiple devices. Didn't quite get what you're saying but... yes we're ready I mean, we hope with all our forces to be ready . This one week soft launch testing looked incredible. We had such a great response from people (beside the invite thing ) and who is playing the game is really enjoying it. Our servers didn't explode yet so I assume this is great too and we're really excited about the game in general. Anyway global launch is set to the second week of October. The date should be 12th of October (I'm writing a post on our blog right now to confirm it definitely) so guys, Cookie Clickers 2 it's very, VERY, near (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
