This is one of my favorite TD games. A great mixture of TD (enemies attack in lines, something like Plants vs Zombies) and RPG elements (you can level up and equip your team).
Beautiful graphics, smooth animations. Sound/music are all well done, but the music gets a bit repetitive after a while. Many missions and the storyline is also pretty good.
And because you have 12 different heroes to choose from (all have different offensive/defensive skills) the replayability is very high, you can try different combinations and layouts to see which strategy works best for the mission etc.
There is a certain amount of grinding (you have to replay some missions to earn money so you can equip your team with better stuff) but for me that’s not a problem.
No problem with touch controls, but there are some missions that require very quick reactions and changing strategy on the go with many things going on the screen.
At the beginning the game feels a bit complicated, but after 2-3 missions all is perfectly clear.

For a buck this is a no-brainer imho. If you hesitate try the lite version.

If you have a choice, get the iPad version. I found it is somewhat difficult to deploy units in the right position, especially during the heat of a battle, due to iPhone's smaller screen.

A tad bit too short for my taste. The maximum level for a hero is 10. The game is a mix of strategy as there is no hero that is too powerful. Mini games are really hard. Story is fun but not for the serious story adventure type of gamers. Overall the game is good.

I keep reading the title as "Doofus: Battles" and expecting a silly cartoon game. :)

This is one of the best games! definitely my favorite TD! but it would be an even better game as an outright SRPG.
