Ok so here is how it goes. List the last 5 games you have purchased for the iPhone/iPod Touch. Then, assign each game to one of these categories. You can only use each category once, but a game can be assigned to more than one category. I think this is a good way for people to look at games and get a feel for why others may like them...plus I am bored. That too. So...the categories: EDIT: You can also do "Worst of" for each one. Best use of touchscreen Best graphics Best style (similar to graphics, but more a focus on artwork, design) Most challenging game Best replay value Best soundtrack Best value (i.e. most bang for your buck) Best controls Best integration of Facebook/Twitter Best leaderboards (some games have more details than others on these) Best superfluous details (such as having a menu that tracks all your arbitrary stats) Best achievements (for Plus, Openfeint etc.) Best multiplayer experience Best level design Best enemy design (also includes bosses) Best boss fights and so on....if you think of anymore be sure to suggest them.
What about garbage like Twin Blades? Was the second to last game i got (less than two weeks ago, IIRC), and by far the worst game i've played on the iPhone. You only have positive categories. If we can only list good games, then it wo'nt be the "last 5".
Sounds interesting... I'll start then: Best use of touchscreen Chaos Rings Best graphics Chaos Rings Best style (similar to graphics, but more a focus on artwork, design) Chaos Rings Most challenging game Angry Birds Best replay value Angry Birds Best soundtrack Chaos Rings Best value (i.e. most bang for your buck) Battle of Puppets (got it for free) Best controls Chaos Rings Best integration of Faebook/Twitter We Rule Best leaderboards (some games have more details than others on these) Sudoku 2 Best superfluous details (such as having a menu that tracks all your arbitrary stats) Battle of Puppets Best achievements (for Plus, Openfeint etc.) Sudoku 2 Best multiplayer experience N/A Best level design Chaos Rings Best enemy design (also includes bosses) Chaos Rings Best boss fights Chaos Rings

This thread will die quickly- people only buy five new things every so often. Hey, I just got an idea some sort of 'quick review' thing. Like, it has a form similar to the one you gave, and instead of having to write a long detailed review (which is the reason most people don't even write reviews) they could have it almost written for them

Last 5 Purchases - Along with some reviews Cartoon Tank Virus Laboratory Tap And Share Land Air Sea Warfare Solomon's Keep Best Use of Touchscreen - Tap And Share Best Graphics - Solomon's Keep Best Value- Land Air Sea Warfare Best Superfluous Details - Virus Laboratory Best Level Design - Cartoon Tank Tap And Share - 0.99 ---------------------------- One of the best Guitar Hero like clones I have EVER seen on the iPhone system. First of all, it's the first one that I have seen that actually gives you 4 taps, and also great graphics compared to Tap Studio when making your own songs. In layman's terms, the interface is just amazing. Smooth transitions and everything that makes it easy to make a song. Only problem is removing taps, so be careful with that. Anyway, I would reccomend this app to anyone who likes TTR. Solomon's Keep - 0.99 ---------------------------- Okay. Now - no joke here. This is like a must for anyone who loves dual stick shooter type games. The graphics are just utterly amazing for measly 9 MB app. I think. Anyway, it's amazing 0.99 $ price just blows me away. I wanted to put this under value but it would give shame to the 3D graphics that don't even lag the iPhone. I would happily pay up to 2.99$ for this app. It's what I play when I have at least 5 minutes to kill. Land Air Sea Warfare - 4.99 ---------------------------- Now I am not a big fan of RTS games, but after seeing the trailers and it looking like a bullet hell to me. It's a surprisingly fun game, and even if the controls are sorta sloppy, it submerged me in the game so deep, I did not even notice that 30 minutes had passed. It's a game you can't put down unless you beat the other team. Amazing game for 5$ with unlimited replay value. Virus Laboratory - 0.99 ---------------------------- This is an Bejeweled clone with a twist. Matching colors, puzzle mode, and even items. Now I can't write a good review on this one, but it's interesting if you got a few minutes to kill. Cartoon Tank - 0.99 --------------------------- From the makers of Cartoon Wars - Gunner (another amazing game) and Cartoon Defence games, comes a tilt, tap, shoot, kill game. It's amazing to play, quirky graphics, and an easy to use control system. I reccomend it if you love side scrolling shooting games. This one is worth the buy.

Grokion : I'm gonna give it a 4/5 since Metroid Fusion is one of the best games I've ever played, and it feels really similar so far. And I'll give it the title of Best Original Game Inspired by a Console Game By that, I mean that it has a definite huge influence from a console or handheld game, but it wasn't a direct copy, port, or clone. Fruit Ninja: I'm giving it a 4/5 just for how addicive it is. I'm not usually a casual gamer, and the only other one I've really enjoyed all that much is Tilt To Live. It's surprising how much fun slicing up fruit can be. And I award it... Best Casual Game Ever. You heard me, best casual game EVER. I actually enjoy it a bit more than Tilt to Live. Dark Void Zero: 3.5/5 (which for me is a good rank). It captures the 8-Bit NES feel PERFECTLY. It honestly felt exactly like I was playing an NES platformer, from the music, to the graphics, to the way enemies act and react. I'm awarding it Best Use of Sound and Graphics. The graphics and sound were so well made and implemented that it actually made the game much more fun. Steam Pirates: 3/5 A great game, but a bit shallow and a bit short. It could have been better with a bit more depth, but it's pretty good the way it is. I'm gonna give it Most Original Graphics in an RPG Game. I was running kinda short on titles to come up with, and I can basically garuantee that this fits the title, if Earthbound doesn't take the title. Prisoner 84: 4.5/5 Ok, technically I didn't get this. I got a code to review it. But whatever, it still works. Either way, awesome game! By far the best horror game I've ever played on an iPhone, let alone most portable gaming devices. I'm awarding this one Scariest iPhone Game Ever for obvious reasons.
