Hi guys, I just wanted to let you all know about my new game Platform Hell ... It's a retro style platform game containing level after level after level. Is that your idea of platform heaven or your idea of Platform Hell! There will be a paid and free version, with a slightly different twist for the free version over the usual 10 level lite offerings. Announcement soon. It's a simple platformer with short fast paced levels, oh and they are very colourful ... here are a few screenshots
Looks cool though a couple backgrounds look a bit busy and might make it hard to tell where your character is. Do you have any gameplay video?
If the controls on this are as tight as LoE's and Mos Speedrun's (?) then this could be yet another good platformer.
Some of those images are making my eyes suffer. Don't get me wrong, i do enjoy playing games with colorful images in them but this is a little bit to much for my eyes to handle. Especially the 2nd and 4th images.
I'm working on one at the moment, hopefully have something up by the weekend LOL, that's the idea. Each level is designed to take 20-40 seconds to complete so it shouldn't hurt your eyes too much.
Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Seems decent, though awfully floaty (I guess that the idea I suppose). Can you explain more about the game and how it plays?
It's a simple platformer. Collect all the diamonds to open the exit to the next level. The enemies/monsters must be avoided and cannot be killed. Complete a level without touching an enemy to earn a medal. Target times are set for gold, silver and bronze medals. Each level is contained in a single screen. A random power up is available per level which can be points, invincibility, energy or an extra life. Points are awarded for each diamond collected. A score multiplier updates the more diamonds are collected, from x5 to x100. The score multiplier is reset to x1 when a enemy is touched. Bonus points are awarded based on the time taken to complete a level. Not really a mario or sonic, more like the old C64 or ZX Spectrum games we used to play back in the 80s. It's similar to Chuckie Egg on the spectrum, but one of my beta testers said it reminded him of Bubble Bobble because of the colours and the single screen levels. A cross between the two maybe? Most platformer's I've played on the iPhone are runners and I wanted something more like the older games. I added the timers to give people something to aim at when the game is complete.
