What aspects of Final Fantasy Tactics do you enjoy the most? iOS has several quality strategy role playing games, or even turn based strategy, like the Kingturn series, World to Conquer, Spectral Souls, Alien Versus Human, Assault Commander Ultimate, Battle Dungeons, Death Tower, Partia, etc etc. Sardonyx is a sort of FF impostor. Edit: World to Conquer, not World's End.
Wow, well I came in preparing to reel off a big fanciful list and there's pretty much the perfect one already here! I'd add Rebirth of Fortune 2 but the highlights of the genre have been mentioned above for me. Hadn't heard of Partia though, looks like a gorgeous Fire Emblem homage so I shall be making a purchase very shortly!
Cool. The Kingturn games are free with one time unlock IAP and an excellent place to start. The Ravenmark games are polished and popular too. Gurk III has a lot of JRPG style world exploration and a story straight out of Final Fantasy 1; but turn based strategy battles so might be worth checking out. Also Palm Kingdoms 2 is good is you like that sort of combined world exploration with turn based combat.
Partia Kingsturn series (3 different games) Alien vs. Human Mysterious Castle (more rogue like though) Xcom: Enemy Unknown Breach and Clear Tactical Soldier Hunters 1 & 2 Battle Dungeon: Risen Call of Cthulhu: The Wasteland Blazing Souls Accelate Spectral Souls Dungeon Crawlers War of Eustrath Metal Brigade Tactics Frontline Tactics Frozen Synapse Warhammer Quest Sardonyx Heroes of Steel
+1 for Eustrath, Warhammer Quest and Partia. Surprised nobody mentioned XCom... It is has a tactical turn-based strategy combat system too, and a deep party customization system as well.
Thanks for the long list! I already purchased XCOM but my device can't handle it. I'll be checking all of the gameplay of the games you've mention.
