Right from the front page: Play as Agent Squeek, the dashing and debonair undercover mouse. Outsmart ferocious felines and crack fiendish challenges! Sneak, sprint and strategize in your quest to save every precious piece of missing cheese. Update from a handson by the guys over at touchgen: During the hands on with Firemint, Matt and I played through 9-10 levels of their newest game Agent Sqeek. The smooth gameplay and visuals show that Firemint wasn’t wasting time during their 2 year development of the game. The goal of the game is to collect wedges of cheese from a house, and then make your escape through a mouse hole. The player does so by drawing a path with their finger for Agent Squeek to follow. Unfortunately, getting the cheese isn’t always an easy job. There are numerous cats who are always vigilant on putting a stop to your cheesy rampage. Once spotted, a cat will charge and try to eat you. Agent Squeek must use power-ups, as well as multiple mouse holes to outwit the cats, get the cheese, and then make like Michael Jackson and beat it! Even after 2 years, Firemint isn’t sure of a release date or a price. Their idea of a “product in development” seemed nearly finished to me. I only played the first “world,” which ended in a boss level. To get clues of the boss’ dastardly plans, Agent Squeek must defeat levels and collect pieces of blueprints that eventually reveals a super weapon that is used in the boss level. So far, the game is looking great. We hope to have more on this promising looking game soon. In the meantime, Firemint have set up a Facebook page for the game here
I am very interested based on the description alone, but for a lot of gamers, it takes screenshots to become interested.
Hmm. I wonder how this game is coming along. There has been no news on it since GDC which was three months ago.
After all the hype I hope the animation looks at least as good as this: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Name changed to "Spy Mouse". Teaser trailer (no gameplay). Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
People always beatin' me to posting videos. lol Anyway, I didn't watch it yet. I will soon. I was looking forward to the game since GDC. lol
Looks like a really polished indie project, though I can't say mindblowing. Production quality is solid, though way overhyped from various sites and podcasts from GDC. Maybe I need to see a proper gameplay vid to observe entire levels. It does look like the steatlh scenarios are more developed than previous games in the genre like Gesundheit and Megan And The Giant. Good game for August.
