Worth at least one intrigued comment haha lol Mack the Knife Well-Known Member Jun 21, 2012 562 0 0 #3 Mack the Knife, Mar 26, 2015 i bought this because i was bored and it looked intriguing. anybody else out there playing this? granted i haven't played long, but there are a number of things i can't figure out. the tutorial is fairly sparse and there is no rulebook. there are some in-game pop-ups but those are more informational (you're running out of food), not offering any tips or game insight. also, the screen where you Learn/Teach new skills is NOT very responsive to touch, often having to bang around the icon 3-4 times before it displays its dialogue box. i emailed the dev several times yesterday but they haven't responded. i tried their forums but after waiting 18 hours still no notification of my registration (yes, correct email). kind of wanted to like this, i see some depth here, but not liking this lack of support. oh well, is it 5 bucks down the drain? jayzilla87 Well-Known Member Feb 22, 2014 60 0 0 #4 jayzilla87, Mar 26, 2015 Oh-oh, that's not a good sign... I wanted to like it tOo because of the art style but guess not... Thanks for the heads up! Mack the Knife Well-Known Member Jun 21, 2012 562 0 0 #5 Mack the Knife, Mar 26, 2015 @jayzilla87, like i said, i haven't played that much yet and i may be wrong about the "NOT very responsive". it looks like you can only Teach/Learn new skills one at a time so while one session is going on, the others don't pop up. i was trying to get two of them going at once, which makes sense, but seemingly you can't. again, while help is minimal at the onset, i'm pretty sure i'll figure things out as i go but allot of things are not explained and i can't seem to figure them out. early in the game i'm supposed to build something that cooks food. the requirements are one wood. i have the wood yet when i try to build it it pops up with two icons, one is wood, the other is a stone hammer and it's greyed out. i take it that's a build symbol and i don't have someone skilled to build it but i do. you also build fires and tents but they didn't have this stone hammer thing. so, i can't progress cuz i have NO IDEA what this stone hammer means! so, you're a smart guy. go ahead and buy it so you can explain things to me seems like a decent game just wish it had better intro information, especially for 5 bucks. Mack the Knife Well-Known Member Jun 21, 2012 562 0 0 #6 Mack the Knife, Mar 27, 2015 well, i'm starting to get the hang of this, there's allot going on and it seems like it might turn out to be a pretty decent game (if you enjoy micromanaging a group of people in a subsistence existence). HOWEVER, this game needs what amounts to a Tech Tree. there are too many skills for you to have to hunt and peck thru them all to find out what's needed to make what. 'it takes three of A to make one of B but how the hell do I get A?' sort of thing. i sent the developers several emails yesterday and have not heard back. this game doesn't seem to be flying off the iTunes shelves (and appears no following on this forum either) and it's the developer's first game so one would think they'd be very attuned to customer feedback and respond accordingly. as such, i don't know why it takes >24 hours for them to respond. if they ignore my emails, if they don't augment the in-game help or produce a manual (tech tree! ) then i'll regret having paid the 5 bucks for this. i hope the opposite will be true. We just released an update that has some improvements to the training process (there is more we would like to do there) as well as a Help page. http://www.fatponygames.com/GameHelp Right now you can access the help page directly on our website, or from the Menu button in game, then Help, which takes you to the website. We realize in game help would be more convenient and will get to it eventually. Please send suggestions to [email protected]! -K (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
