We invite any and all feedback, comments, ideas, criticisms, etc. Help us make the game BETTER!!! Thanks for stopping by and checking us out.
Well, definitely digging the screen shots. Will this be a point n click adventure, hidden object, mini puzzles or all of the above? I have a suggestion: So many adventure games (especially from Big Fish) have haunted themes these days, yet, I'm still seeking one that is genuinely scary. I'm talking subtle creepiness, combined with the occasional, jump out of your seat moment. Most of the other games of this genre are family friendly, and there's nothing spooky about them. It's great that there's a huge selection for families, but I'm betting true horror fans (no, not the torture porn type), would love something to play with the lights out. Oh, and that includes animation, not the Myst-type slide show
hope this game will not be bad like riddenhurst, good graphic but bad gameplay,i really love horror games and i hope you will make something really good this time...
Thank you all for stopping by and checking out The Haunt. To clarify... The Haunt will be a point n click (or tap) adventure with mini puzzles and clues. The story premise is that you have been requested by the town's Mayor to come and rid the house of its spiritual possession. We plan to have several ghosts haunt the estate and your job is to banish those ghostly spirits and close the ethereal portal...thereby freeing the town from the treachery of the otherworld inhabitants. Our goal is to find the right balance between realism and fantasy. We are trying to develop a realistic story (as opposed to magical or surreal) as we really want to create a game that is "believable" and that will engage you enough to draw you in and allow you to believe in the experience and invest yourself...in hopes to actually creep you out (or at least give you a case of the mild shivers). Our hope is...that if you play it at night, in bed with the lights off...you will actually get a little creeped out. Or maybe if we are lucky...we will scare the pants off of you. We DO want it to be family friendly...so I would NOT classify this as a HORROR game. It is a "Creepy" game with the goal of delivering an interesting experience of wandering around in an authentic (but fictional) haunt. There is no gore or rated R stuff...but maybe just a touch of fake blood or a suggestion of violence...without actually showing (or simulating) any violence. We are not out to gross you out...just spook you a little. All of this will be blended with a series of puzzle sequences and mini games/puzzles along with some fun special effects and quality sound design...we hope to have your toes curled as you explore the dark shadows of the house. This will be a completely different experience than Riddenhurst. We have taken the best of Riddenhurst and built upon that and tried to make the navigation and flow of the game as effortless and easy as possible...so that more of your attention can be spent on solving the puzzles and exploring the haunted corners of the game. Stay tuned for more previews and updates. And thanks again for looking into our window.
Thanks Pepper...Glad you like how its shaping up. We don't have a release date yet...but we are ACTIVELY working on it. I hate nailing down releases...but our target is by early summer. Hopefully in June. These adventures however always have a way of extending out a bit longer than expected...so don't hold me to that date. But I would say its a safe bet that we will have it out this summer...barring we don't get carried away adding stuff and over-polishing. Thanks for checking us out everyone!
I think I would rather have the best game possible and you don't rush it as opposed to a game that has a lot of bugs at the outset, so, even though I have zero patience, I will have to wait
@ Pepper... Sure thing. We will make it as "bug-free" as humanly possible. To everyone else...thanks for the kudos. They keep us well motivated!!!
Here is another screenshot we thought we should share. The game is progressing well and I estimate we are over the 50% point in development.
Here is another view or 2 to browse. We're making great progress and the adventure is beginning to take shape!
