Last night I picked up the new game by Frost 3d (makers of WarMen), a shooter called Space Trek. It's actually very nice, obviously inspired by Jax and Daxter, though a bit rough around the edges (like many indie titles). I was going to start a new thread on the game this morning, but, to my surprise, it has been pulled from the App Store. Does anyone know what's going on?
Wow, I didn't even know they had put this out. I haven't heard anything, I'm assuming you haven't run into any game breaking bugs?
No: my issues are mostly with the slider control, which controls forward and backward movement. The map button is immediately below it, so it's very easy to hit it by mistake. Some of the animation could be improved, yaddah, yaddah. Nothing that would prompt a speedy exit from the App Store. Here are a couple of screenshots -- one from the opening movie, one from the game proper. As you can see, this is not a minor effort. I sent an email to the devs: hopefully we'll hear something soon.
Wow! How did I miss this? They know how to make some good looking games for sure. Let us know if you hear anything. Do you have any idea how long it was out before it got yanked?
Not really. It popped on TA's new game list late last night. The icon looked interesting, and when I saw it was by Frost 3D I picked it up on the spot. I checked TA this morning to see if there was a thread on it, and ... well, you know the story. I'll let people know as soon as I hear anything. EDIT: The page in Appshoper is still there.
My guess is it has to do something with the game name 'space trek'. Nice screens though can you add more?
Funny, didn't think of that --- probably the most obvious explanation. Unfortunately I have to get some work done, then I'm off to a couple of long meetings, so I won't have a chance to put up more screens. I should add that there's decent voice acting through out. And a giant worm straight out of Dune -- sucker has killed me a few times already.
