Its very, very similar, but there are some minor improvements, some minor variations, and, once you level up enough, multiplayer (almost no one on it but you could play with a friend). Most importantly, you get a lot more cash per level so its not quite as grindy as the first game. I got 33k just now for clearing the first level in the second set (like level 27ish if you count from the beginning). Most of my key troops are at where it would cost around 50k to level them. That said, the game is pretty hard at this point and I really have no idea what would be best to level. Its not like the first game where Storm Troopers + Monks + Catapults = win. Level 8 monks seem pretty weak (no heal increase till 12), so storm troopers die pretty easily, and there is an early rush to deal with.
