Interesting question, because Nike+ iPod debuted on the 2nd gen iPod Touch. Seems like this is an expanded version - I doubt you need Wifi to use it, it probably syncs data somehow.
I think he's referring to cellphone service as it tracks your run using gps. That's kinda hard too do offline Any fellow fitness buffs out there? I use the original version that comes with the iPod.
I use the original Nike+ constantly on my treadmill with the foot pod. I downloaded this one just to see if it has anything extra. I'm actually in the market to get a foot pod for my Garmin GPS watch. I hate that I have two databases for runs depending on if it's outside or on the treadmill. I love the Garmin, so I would rather use it for everything. I think the foot pod also works for biking, so that's a bonus.
