Yes, I these new graphics are much better than the cartoony, "cute" original graphics. While I appreciate the cartoony look this potentially alienates at least one section of your intended audience that would find this game appealing - wargamers. Personally I would want you to go further and either make it less cute or more abstract ...but I am attracted to this title because I want to play quality wargames on my iPad. I also wonder if the base colors are too close - on the screenshot it is not that easy to tell the two sides apart on the basis of base color.
