The thing with this game is that to understand what's going on on the screen you need to see the fingers playing it - otherwise you just see exploding bunnies at random places for no visible reason. That reason of course is perfectly timed taps. So we made this "how to play" video, showing almost entire first level (with one of five songs). Does that help? I think the lack of impressions is just the fact it was such a crazy release week. Just some quick impressions as there's probably not that much that needs to be analysed [and I don't mean that in a nasty way]. Ok so after a short tutorial, you're thrown into the first song with Rhino Jr. The visuals are a little psychadelic and pop beautifully. The music? Well, if you're into that genre you'll love it. It's certainly inoffensive and decent to listen to if you're not. Your character stands in the middle with rabbits coming in on all sides. You must tap the rabbits in time to the beat for them to disappear. If you don't they keep coming. For best results, you should tap multiple rabbits each beat. That way, you're removing as much of the threat as possible. If you get tired of the same song, you can hit Shuffle at the Retry screen for something else. But you're probably better off just getting used to each song. *shrug* Initially you start off in Party mode and unlock two others through reaching the 60% mark of a song. So although it may sound easy, the whole 'tapping to a beat' thing, it feels very different in practice to say Guitar Hero as you have to keep an eye on different parts of the screen. It may take a bit of time for it to click in your brain but I can see this being a decent game to play for short bursts at a time. Not sure how long a session you'd want to mash away for but it will be on high rotation over the holiday period and beyond Rexxie@SpungeGames Well-Known Member Mar 17, 2015 93 0 0 Spunge Games Brisbane, Australia https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1Vxw-jQxElAg8Pd2orp-sQ #9 Rexxie@SpungeGames, Dec 14, 2015 I spent all day Sunday playing this game and I'm loving it. Super addictive. My only issue is there is basically only 3 levels. I would recommend making each song a level rather than a shuffle mode it would make it feel like more value as well. Definitely recommend if you're a fan of rhythm games. Nice work devs! chopsticksgames Member Oct 7, 2015 16 0 0 #10 chopsticksgames, Dec 14, 2015 Thank you both for the kind words. So far the feedback for Party Gods has been very positive and that's extremely encouraging. We like to play the game ourselves even after tens of hours of testing. Not to finish it over and over again (even Bull isn't that hard after some (long) time) but rather for the experience of "dancing" . It's just fun. Right now we're trying to get some major gaming website / Youtube gamer to notice it and give it a chance to broaden the game's audience. icoker Well-Known Member Mar 26, 2013 652 10 18 #11 icoker, Dec 14, 2015 Liking it so far, but I wish there was a unlockable system to boost the replay value. More characters/enemy/area (disco/jungle,etc) types chopsticksgames Member Oct 7, 2015 16 0 0 #12 chopsticksgames, Dec 16, 2015 Thanks for the idea. Highest tempo playable by mortal humans in Party Gods' case seems to be around 220 BPM - third level is at 160 BPM. So I think there's a space for one or two more characters in the future. We want to stay true to the current Party Gods concept though, providing real value instead of an illusion of it. That's why we're trying not to dilute the core "experience of partying" by adding too much clutter. icoker Well-Known Member Mar 26, 2013 652 10 18 #13 icoker, Dec 22, 2015 I definitely understand that, but clutter is sometimes necessary to pull back the players in for the long haul. The appstore market audience is known to label games as "lacking content" when it's clearly the developer's intent to keep it simple and true to the game experience. If so, how many points? icoker Well-Known Member Mar 26, 2013 652 10 18 #15 icoker, Dec 22, 2015 No achievements so far, though it's an area that can be easily implemented by the devs. Not an edm fan but bought this for the music alone! $3 is cheap for a set of awesome songs and some gameplay. icoker Well-Known Member Mar 26, 2013 652 10 18 #16 icoker, Dec 22, 2015 I think it would far more effective if there is an everplay function or something of the kind thay allows players to record their gameplays and distribute it on youtube, fb, twitter, etc. This way the games publicity will rise significantly opposed to simply tweeting or fbooking about a game someone plays. Enable video uploads. Not many people know this kind of a game exists and I think if we can deliver the publicity through a pocketful of gamers who have the game right now. On a side note, I will consider writing a review on my blog as well, which i will post a link to it here in the forums. icoker Well-Known Member Mar 26, 2013 652 10 18 #17 icoker, Dec 23, 2015 Darn, I got excited by the notification from this forum! Is there a restriction on part of the actual coding that limits the sound quality? (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
