Looks awesome. I loved the first one, although I never managed to complete it. More screenshots (from Pocket Gamer):
Wow. This looks unbelievable compared to the first one (which I loved). Can't wait for this! Hopefully it's at least a summer release. The new graphics look excellent.
Seems like "Galaxy On Fire 2" is not the only surprise from FISHLABS for Their fans: (From www.blog.FISHLABS.net/en) Mission Pack for Galaxy On Fire 1!
GOF 2 is alot more advanced. it has a lot of stuff to trade, secrets, strategy and you can choose if you want a shooter ship or one with larger cargo and turrets etc. and of course it is open space! (those are things that were in the java version that I played. Edit: my stats show more than 3 days of gameplay and still not bored of it.)
It does have a story. The java version had a storyline that involves more alien factions than in the first one (only Vossk and Terran in GOF1) there's also trading, creating items, finding blueprints (to create more powerful weapons than the ones available in the shop) and discovering new galaxies, mining (minerals and cores... there's tons of types of asteroids), etc. As some others have previously said, GOF2 was much better than GOF1 on mobile devices...
Wow, so cool. The graphics look much better, and gameplay seems to be better too (more free form?). The first one didn't really jive with me. Are you a tester? It seems more different from the first one, if I remember correctly what the first one was (more on rail but you can fly the ship, just only forward). Is there more freedom?
In fact, you could go backward and pretty much freeroam in the first one. I just hope the game will have a little more "fun" factor. The first one was a great, but sometimes on the boring side. Maybe the enemys took too long to kill or were too few in numbers compared to a game like Star Fox. But I'm still not very far in the firt one so maybe it gets better latter. But like I said, too often you happen to roam in space toward your goal for quite a while then you get some enemy. It's fun, but not always very exciting, I hope for some variety...
not tester. the java version (http://galaxyonfire2.com/eng/index.html) after playing warpgate i think this is better and addictive
Heads up: We cut the price 50% of GoF for the weekend and the second part of the developer diary of GoF2 including a new screenshot and some concept art is live! Thought you might be interested Game on! Michael
