Do you recommend it still? Yes. Developers can't update and change the price of their item during the shutdown.
I have a long standing policy about not buying apps that are not updated for widescreen, only a small handful would I break that rule on, and this is one of them. It's not a true RPG like the others, it's a turn based tactical game. I got turned onto it from Cilo when he said he played it everyday. I'm not that gaga over it but it is awesome. Just make sure that style of RPG is what you want. Watch a review on it first.
Ok, here's kind of a stupid question. If I was to say buy and HD app like The World Ends With You: Solo Remix HD or Final Fantasy 3 for iPad, would I get the iPhone version too or would I also have to buy the iPhone version? I mean they are separate apps, but it would be really nice if they worked like purchasing a universal app.
You would have to buy the iPhone version. I bought the iPhone version of TWEWY before I owned an iPad and now I have to purchase the iPad version if I want it. That one is blocked from playing on other devices.
Why would they block you from playing on other devices? I mean damn that's just an asshole move, pardon my French. Everything other iPhone game you can just play on iPad, pixelated but nevertheless.
I think i will be getting it still. I remembered playing a bit of it in a Gameboy and i loved it. How many hours of playtime this game have btw?
There may not be additional sales, but I would think the sales already going on would stay on until after the shutdown.

There is a lockdown in effect today I think, so if no sale after today then there won't be until the after the lockdown, which may be new year!

They might do a New Year's sale after the App Store is reopened on the 27th. But for now that seems to be it for the Christmas sales, there are no more price changes for a week.
Pixel Defenders Puzzle is a great game, a match 3 combat RPG hybrid with some really clever design. Well worth $0.99 and not to be overlooked.
