ENDED Hello, guys: We released our first game, Flappy Friends!, about five days ago. We're pretty satisfied with our progress so far, having made it into the top 20 results when searching for "flappy" on the AppStore. We have spent $0 on marketing so far aside from printing posters, but have been relentlessly telling everyone we could. I alone have talked to over a thousand people one on one about the game in the past few days and have posted in enough places to get well over 10,000 views. We're open to trying different kinds of promotions though, so we'll be experimenting with a contest much like the ones that have been around TA for many years. ########## Here are the directions: 1. Download Flappy Friends! for free: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/flappy-friends!/id829289344?mt=8 2. Rate and review on the US APPSTORE. 3. Post your AppStore review nickname here. THEN, POST A SUGGESTION FOR THE GAME IN THE LINK BELOW: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=222437 ########## The contest will end once 50 people have left their names in this thread. We'll pick 5 random winners at that time. If that takes too long, we'll cut it off sooner. We'll definitely give you guys an update if that's the case. 23 reviews will yield 2 winners, 35 will yield 4, etc. Anyways, we won't be responding to any of your suggestions here to avoid cluttering the thread. Instead, we'll be replying to every post in the main thread. Thank you guys for your time. We hope some of you will enjoy the game and play it beyond the time it takes for an initial impression review.
You want me to put the suggestion in the App Store review? It may seem a little weird. I would suggest to post the suggestions here because it would seem odd if I said to add a coin doubler. Is it to make it seem like all the review are more legit? BTW I love the review that says he is so high right now! Lol My suggestion is to make it more obvious that the avatars are purchasable when you see three symbols on some of the screens. At first I thought it was some sort of combo mission.
You are absolutely right. Thank you for the feedback. Changed the contest rules. Not sure if you decided to leave a review, but please leave your nickname from the AppStore if you want to take part in the contest!
Less is more in my opinion. Developers try to do too much. Too many options in your game. I didn't rate it because you wouldn't like my rating. Come up with something different, it seems like you have the talent. Personally I like the look of 8 bit games. I am still looking for a developer to come up with a clone of Kung fu from Nintendo. That game is boss. Anywho, that's my 2 cents worth.
Looks like this contest is slowing down! Are the rules too unattractive? I can change it to a more standard contest like 1 winner of a $25 GC with a set end date instead of a quota, if that's what you guys would prefer.
You dont always get 50 people replying to competitions so i think that figure initially was too high. Most devs seem to have a standard competition and cut it off after say a week or two (rather than waiting for 50 entries)
Yeah that's what I'm thinking. We'll probably just cut this one off in a few days. Once we release our huge update (hopefully in a week), we will run a more standard one.
Reviewed as: Eddii Eeo . on Phil Itunes Store.. Suggestion: It is very well constructed.. Probably better than the original flappy bird... Hope you give more incentives to player because it really gives player something more challenging to do rather than just beating their own high scores... ) Ps: I know that the flappy bird was a hit, but this game has a lot of potential to be successful even if you change the overall theme... Just my opinion )
