Touch and drag to spell out words, making those letters disappear. You also can manipulate the board with special modifiers that allow you to replace, swap, jumble and remove letters. It's just as important to think of the letters you leave behind as the ones you clear - after all you wouldn't want to paint yourself into a corner. NEW FEATURE: Don't want to see ads? Purchasing any item in the in-game store will now switch off ads forever! * • FIND dictionary words by tracing a line between tiles to spell them out. Tiles can be linked in any direction including diagonally. • SWAP any two letters on the grid by using a SWAP TOKEN, earned during gameplay. • REPLACE a letter on the grid with a SPARE from your inventory to make longer words. • JUMBLE the tiles on the grid to replace all the letters with new ones when all else fails. • CHANGE the letter on a tile to any other letter you choose using the SWAP MODIFIER. • ELIMINATE stubborn tiles with BOMBS when you can't make any more words and need to nudge your score over the line. I don't understand why devs of word/letter games don't implement other language's dictionaries. n8o Active Member Aug 23, 2010 43 0 0 Founder, designer, developer, dad. Canada http://amuses.me/ #7 n8o, Mar 13, 2014 I'm curious which language you'd specifically be interested in? It's hard to find dictionaries and create reasonable letter values in an unfamiliar language without outright copying/stealing from another game. Habakuk Well-Known Member Dec 11, 2008 4,779 9 38 Vienna, Austria http://rossau.wordpress.com #8 Habakuk, Mar 13, 2014 I personally German of course. But go there http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_language and compare it with the amount of iOS devices (Apple market) in those countries. Then implement the languages (latin letters) with the most possible users first. Is it, really? I'm not a dev. I'd say, take it from there where you took the English dict. Are there no free open source dictionaries? AppyNation Well-Known Member Aug 17, 2012 160 0 16 London #9 AppyNation, Mar 13, 2014 Unfortunately it is VERY hard. You can infer as such from how few word games do support multiple languages. But also you can take it from us On a slightly happier note - the game got featured! Yay! Love it. Can you please add an Undo option? I swap so many tiles by accident and waste them. Also when you finish a match with a friend can you just put a rematch button in there? I love the visual style. Also maybe some kind. Endless mode would be cool, like how many grids can you clear in a row with the lowest score possible or grids to zero in a row or something like that? Thanks for the great addition to word games (you bumped SpellTower off my home screen). EGVroom Well-Known Member Mar 13, 2014 187 0 16 #12 EGVroom, Mar 13, 2014 Thanks for playing! A real gem of a quick play word game. Graphics and music are great! Couple questions and/or improvements. 1) The splash screen shows "play the best of three rounds" but I don't see a way to set this up. I think its a great feature and sort of standard on score based word games. Maybe set things up so the creator of the game can set how many games to play in a set even? 2) A rematch button is essential. Especially in the current situation where it seems to only play a one game series. 3) Is there a way to disable ads? 4) Do the Modifier tiles reset for every game? Should I be using them every game or will they run out and need to be re-purchased? Anyhow, thanks for a great new game and look forward to hearing from you soon! Tango EGVroom Well-Known Member Mar 13, 2014 187 0 16 #15 EGVroom, Mar 14, 2014 Hey! Thanks so much for playing. About those questions. ! 1) That splash screen actually shouldn't say that. I used to have multiplayer be best of 3 when we were in beta but people just weren't playing. I think it was because a 3 round game was just too much of a time drain. So we ended up making it a one round game in the end. I could add the option in an update for sure. 2) Yep. Rematch is deffo gonna get put in. 3) No way to disable adverts right now. 4) There are 5 modifiers. 2 letters which reset each round and 3 special ones (jumble, swap, and bomb) which you only have a certain number of. You can get more of these via coins you win (in single player or multiplayer) or by just buying a coin pack. Again! Thanks for playing. I made Word Forward on my own over the last many months and it's brilliant to see so many people enjoying it.
