Hi everyone! It's been a long year since we started developing this game and now I'm happy to tell you guys that the app has been approved by Apple and will be released on March 30, 2011. The gameplay is simple and addicting: you have to throw a paper plane as far as you can while going through various obstacles and landscapes unlocking achievements and setting records. We had to postpone the release to redefine some of the gameplay elements to make the app better. So stay tuned for the news and new information! If you guys have any questions or comments, feel free to post them here. Check out the artwork below! Enjoy!
Good news! I got a couple of codes available, so if you want to post your early impressions here, feel free to send me a PM and I will send you a code!
What is there to posts comments about, artwork doesn't give us any idea into what the game is like. is it 2D, 3D? Why refrain from using screenshots?
So the game is out in New Zealand and surprise surprise, Not even a SINGLE screenshot showing the actual game. Maybe the game is too crap to show anything from it? http://itunes.apple.com/nz/app/aeroflick/id406367334?mt=8
I see you guys are getting more and more excited here So I was just going to upload a couple of gameplay screenshots. The first one shows the beginning of the game and the second one shows the paper plane in the air. So check it out and let me know what you think:
I like the graphics. But there's nothing really explaining the controls or how it works.Do I just let it ride? I haven't been able to reach the portal, but I'll keep trying. And good job on gamecenter achievements.
Thanks for the post, the controls are quite simple: 1. Touch the plane and don't release it 2. Drag it to the left side of the screen 3. Then flick it and release after crossing the dotted line I'm sure you'll be able to achieve better results now
I'm enjoying this game quite a bit; I like the graphics, I like the music (although I do find it to be a little too repetitive), and the controls, now that I'm operating them properly, are working beautifully -- the key is drawing the plane to the left before dragging it across the dotted line, as iPodlip mentioned. As described in iPodlip's first post, the game is quite simple: The object is to toss a paper airplane and see how far it will go. Apparently, it's all about the trajectory, and for some inexplicable reason, I feel compelled to keep trying *one more time* to improve my angle, and thus my total distance. I have no idea how long this compulsion will last, but we all know how elusive that "C'mon, just ONCE more!"-quality can be for a developer to infuse into a game, and I'm always as impressed as I am mystified whenever I see someone successfully achieve that goal.
The game is already available on the App Store. The new thread is here: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=89300 Enjoy!
