Hi there, currently my little "game company" is called Herp Games. Great games were published under this name: Defend your Phone, Black Matter, Doodle Wars: Ship vs. Stick, etc. BUT: Many people told me that the company name is awful, complete bullshit, unproffessional, reminds them of illness and so on. What do you think? Any suggestions? If your suggestion is outstanding then you'll get all iPhone games written by me for free, for your lifetime, forever. Yes, that is awesome!
Because Herp is short for Herpes. An illness. What I would suggest is an "outer space" name such as Saturn Games (if not taken lol) or somesuch. That way, it can't be misintrepeted. (Unless you choose Uranus...)
My first thought exactly! I also like what you said about Saturn. Space is always good with gamers! Also, Obi sounds like one of Eminem's mates, Obi trice...
I associated Obi with Obi-Wan from Star Wars but I don't know much else about that name. EDIT: Oh wait, I didn't see the OP's username =.="
Megalodon Destroys All. ...no really, that's what I'd have. It's too typical having a name that ends with "games", I'd go one step further and just make use a badass short sentence instead.
Yeah... and "Very Good Games" and "Default Game Developer Name" and "Fun Game Development Team" as well. Because it's not as though we're trying to think of the most boringly generic names possible or anything.
I really like "Megalodon Destroys All" but I think people wouldn't get it. I.e. think "damned my first iPhone virus" when the game splash screen is shown. But a good idea for my next game title
Dunno, Herpes Games is definitely unique and memorable Herpes Games: the games that keep on giving! Herpes Games: Once played, never forgotten!! etc, etc...
Well, it's unique and memorable but there's good reason why Windows is not by Cancersoft or no one drinks a delicate Diarrhea-Coke.
This thread made me lol so many times On a serious note obi-games sounds good. Or Obisoft. Trick people into thinking you're ubisoft. What about Vaporware? That would be a cool name. Or you could combine these suggestions and make it "Uranus Herps".
*lol* great suggestions! Uranus Herps, Obihave there's huge creative potential in these forums. But back to the serious names: Obi Games seems to be acceptable for some. Or I use something with space? Awesome Games is too generic I think. BTW: Why are you all so inconspicuous?
They are just a little geeky to be a company name. You should be named something like Alien inc. or obi arts or star inc. These might be geeky too but in my opinion they are better than your other two names.
