I just hope they dont change the model, the prices and everything else that may make it more IAP-pushy. The local multiplayer options make this game for some friends and me the best computer video game of all time and of all consumer software platforms. Nothing less and nothing more. Pure iOS power. Set up to six local friends with iOS devices in 30 seconds (WiFi or Bluetooth). Rock solid. Without ANY cables!!! Have the brilliant retina display (a combination of steering wheel and windshield) right in front of your nose. (And not on a distant monitor with split screen view like on old-fashioned consoles and three million cables.) Best action gameplay. Best graphics. Best controls. Best background music. Best voice acting. Best speed feeling. Best hightec software programming. A trippy groundflight with the most gorgeous supercars and prettiest tracks. Want a challenge? Win all duels in career mode. And yes, there are IAPs, but nobody ever needs them (completely optional, a cheap option for cheating). Optimized for iPad 4 and iPhone 5 (iPod touch 5th gen.). I bought an iPad 4 alone for Asphalt 7: Heat. Believe me. Screenshots with the differences on iPad 3 and iPad 4 will follow. Bought on release night, love it lots. The IAP was there all along, but yes, let's hope it doesn't turn into something obnoxious after this free event. JBRUU Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,758 0 36 USA #11 JBRUU, Nov 19, 2012 I think NFS actually takes this one's place as the top arcade racer on the AppStore but for free and considering that this is still a pretty good game, I would snap it up. MidianGTX Well-Known Member Jun 16, 2009 3,738 10 38 #12 MidianGTX, Nov 19, 2012 Is one control method widely considered to work best or is opinion split? Also... if I'm looking to avoid IAP should I be doing anything special, and will it make the game less entertaining? JBRUU Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,758 0 36 USA #13 JBRUU, Nov 19, 2012 IAP totally optional. I personally prefer tapping on either side of the screen to sure in that direction, but there are a ton of options so find what works best. MidianGTX Well-Known Member Jun 16, 2009 3,738 10 38 #14 MidianGTX, Nov 19, 2012 Cool thanks. One more thing, was I wrong in thinking this supported iPad 3 retina? The menus are great but the races themselves are pretty jaggy. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #15 nightc1, Nov 19, 2012 Last edited: Nov 19, 2012 I guess I'm glad I held on on that $0.99... I was planning eventually to get this but still have so much left to do in Asphalt 6. Edit: Also to any other folks that typically use their iPhone or whatever to make purchases instead of iTunes... I ended up freeing all the way to 3GB of space just to start the download. So it must be a bigger install than the file size of 1.16GB... so you need the download size + the install size worth of space. MidianGTX Well-Known Member Jun 16, 2009 3,738 10 38 #16 MidianGTX, Nov 19, 2012 1.5GB according to my iPad. fenderbendr Well-Known Member Mar 7, 2012 183 0 0 #17 fenderbendr, Nov 19, 2012 Is it much better than Asphalt 6? nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #18 nightc1, Nov 19, 2012 Yes, 1.5GB for the actual game installed and another 1.14GB for the download. So 2.64GB total available before it'll even start the download. I just happened to get to 3GB as my next mile stone after freeing 2.5GB before it would start the download for me. Think of it like getting a compressed .Rar or .Zip file on a computer and then unzipping the contents to a folder. You need the space for the download and more space to unzip it, but once it's unzipped you can delete the original .rar/.zip file. After five hours or six I prefer sitting in a chair with arm rests. iPad or not, be sure that there is a power supply somewhere… Some of my thoughts on NFS compared to Asphalt here.
