Hello all I decided to drop the price of Floris to $1.99 for the next week to continue the launch celebration! https://itunes.apple.com/app/floris/id622369148?mt=8 Details / screenshots / and user impressions can be found in the main forum here. If you're on the fence check it out - very positive reviews so far. If you like the falling block genre (Tetris / Dr Mario) you're gonna love this.. Superb music!!! Sharp Strategy!! Thanks
Man no one cares? I actually found I sold more copies when it was $2.99 than $1.99. I'm guessing the $1 change doesn't make a difference to those that will only consider $0.99 or free Might just go back to $2.99. Floris is totally worth it! The music alone is a steal, and the game is fun as #@$^@!!
Actually I was bummed to miss the freebie and added it to my watch list hoping for a .99 sale, which I also missed, since it was 420 weekend and I was festing. My itunes account has been super low lately due to so many awesome 99 cent games lately, and currently just over a buck in the account, which is when I get real choosey. So I can't buy at the 1.99 or full price, but if it were to go back to .99 for a day That dollar would go straight to it. The only dev to post a 420 sale gets my support
Sorry bro; you are competing with thousands of games at the same price; hundreds of new releases each week, sales of competing prices each week, etc. I tend to work through my backlog from oldest to newest.
Wow! You want to encourage consumers, not alienate them. I was just about to check out your game, yet if this is your attitude I'll buy one of tonights releases instead. Learn some business acumen or at least have some common sense...
Sit down for a second and let's face some harsh realities. Lets look at the price history first: Apr 18 - Version 1.0 $2.99 Apr 20 - From $2.99 to $0.99 Apr 22 - From $0.99 to $2.99 Apr 23 - From $2.99 to $1.99 Apr 24 - From $1.99 to $2.99 Apr 24 - From $2.99 to $1.99 When a game fluctuates this much in price in a short amount of time it looks very desperate. It's been $0.99 before, there's a chance it'll go there again, you've put that thought out there. Having this many price drops also makes it look like you think less of the game that you have to discount it two days after launch to 66% off. If it sells better at $2.99 then keep it $2.99. But the appstore for puzzle games is just filled with competition. $0.99 is a no brainer purchase for someone that likes the genre, above that and there needs to be some feedback on the game (at least for me since I'm not as big a fan of the genre). That's not even talking about the game which may be fantastic but it's hard to tell from the screen shots that it's that great. I read the thread on it here as well and it just didn't seem like something I was interested in so a sale also has to get people that are interested into jumping off the fence and throwing their cash down. I'm not trying to be harsh here, just realistic from a consumers point of view. The app description is filled with phrases that look like quotes but aren't quotes. "WOW! AN INSTANT CLASSIC!" isn't enough to sell me unless it's being said by a third party that I trust. The overall description is Waaaay too long (like many of my posts here )... I think you need to edit it down so the first thing people read is what the game is about. Not some catch phrases and whatnot. Again, not meaning to sound harsh... I have a bad habbit of wanting to help people out even if they don't want the help and they think that they know it all. Granted I don't know it all either, but as a serious gamer that spends money on apps... maybe my view will help you clean up the listing... stick to your guns on a price and get a little more respect. Oh and don't complain about sales... that too looks desperate and alienates potential customers since you put them down for not buying instantly just because there's a sale. Be confident that the game you made is good and try not to dwell on how it's selling.

There are a lot of great music toys as well as puzzle games on the appstore. To compete with games l(even if they are older) like Blooms, Auraflux, Dream of Pixels, etc., you should try to give a better impression of what the game-play is like. Greyskull Well-Known Member Dec 13, 2009 5,588 1 38 Photographer/Social Sciences adjunct/sweet sweet l Fort Lauderdale #9 Greyskull, Apr 24, 2013 Also, maybe you could provide a link in the "details" to a gameplay video. If you've gotten some detailed impressions from users here, those could help you. TA user reviews/impressions are some of the most detailed ones I usually come across. grillaface Well-Known Member Apr 1, 2013 112 0 0 Richmond VA #10 grillaface, Apr 24, 2013 Interesting, thanks for the info. The price changes today must've been some kinda glitch - I didn't make any adjustments today. The price is set to go back to 2.99 on Tuesday (the $1.99 is a sale price).. I certainly did not mean to alienate anyone with my comment - it was poorly phrased "no one cares" i agree -but the observation was valid that I sold more units at $2.99 than $1.99. I guess I'm just too emotionally attached to this product/project as I believe I've made one of the most interesting games on the platform.. The price will stay put for a week.. The feedback has been mostly very positive - there're some performance issues on older devices (1st model iphone4, ipad1, and iPod touch..) If you have one of those devices please wait until I submit the first patch this weekend... And I definitely need an interactive tutorial. The rules are not clear to everyone but most can figure it out pretty quick.. To people like me that's part of the fun but I want to make this a game everyone can enjoy. Sincerely, apologies, I didn't mean to offend anyone! grillaface Well-Known Member Apr 1, 2013 112 0 0 Richmond VA #11 grillaface, Apr 24, 2013 Very sound advice advice and you're completely correct. Sending you a promo code if you'd like to try. grillaface Well-Known Member Apr 1, 2013 112 0 0 Richmond VA #12 grillaface, Apr 24, 2013 And hey, @nightc1 Not meaning to be nitpicky but where'd you see the price go up and down today? I really didn't make any adjustments today - though iTunes Connect was weird this morning... Yeah the description is kind of weird but damn if it ain't true! Havent spent a whole lot of time with it yet but initial impressions are fantastic. This is really one of the most fun and engaging puzzle/matching/stacking games in my collection. Music is great, visuals are great, controls are great (though a swiping mode rather than buttons would be awesome, and would clean up the game view too) and the gameplay is simple and unique and fun. For a fan of this type of game, I don't think you would be disappointed spending 2.99 on this. I wouldn't have been. At 1.99 it's a bargain. Definitely recommended. september Well-Known Member Sep 14, 2012 2,673 0 0 #14 september, Apr 25, 2013 Touch Arcade app only shows the 2 price drops, this one and one $0.99 drop. Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,239 179 63 #15 Royce, Apr 25, 2013 AppZapp shows 2 separate drops to $1.99. Obviously it's a glitch of some sort and AZ runs from international data rather than US, but I'm not sure why that would happen. BTW, I absolutely recommend this game for anyone who is a fan of this sort of thing. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #16 nightc1, Apr 25, 2013 Yeah, AppZapp Pro is what I was looking at for pricing. Usually it's pretty reliable with the info posted though like most app shopping apps it can miss short term sales that last an hour or so. This would be the first time I've experienced note about a price increase and drop like this and it not e true. I've seen other devs do that on purpose just to get a bump on the sale charts in these shopping apps. I sometimes like puzzle games, if you want to send a code feel free and I'll throw an honest critique back to the main thread. I wasn't fishing for one though, just felt compelled to help. I'm just glad it was received with the good will intended. grillaface Well-Known Member Apr 1, 2013 112 0 0 Richmond VA #17 grillaface, Apr 26, 2013 Only a couple more days to steal this at $1.99 - price goes up on Monday... Check it out! nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #18 nightc1, Apr 26, 2013 Last edited: Apr 26, 2013 Just some feedback for others, the game is actually really good. It's more tetris than it appears. The balls (pedals) that fall can be rotated and land in the same way tetris blocks land. So placement is important as you can create holes by accident but you can also create them on purpose and slide a piece in from the side at the last moment. Building rings around the center has a good feeling of satisfaction. Honestly as games go, it's solid but it lacks a few key ingredients. Most notably an ingame tutorial, leaderboards and achievements. There is a website to learn how to play the game and are leaderboards are possibly coming in an update getting submitted soon to fix a memory usage issue older devices have. Achievements are supposed to come in one of either the .2 or .3 update. So it's got a work in progress kind of feel which isn't new to the appstore but the core game is really good and I think this could end up one of the better puzzle games out there in the same way Plasma Sky came out of no where and now it's probably my favorite shmup. gquiller Well-Known Member Nov 15, 2011 330 3 18 #19 gquiller, Apr 27, 2013 I replied earlier & I'm glad to see the solid advice as well as your willingness to take it in stride-kudos!
