I'm too old for Pokemon and was a combination of too old and too interested in other things to get involved with Magic: the Gathering (I was either a Junior or Senior in High School the first time I heard of it, saw a group of Freshman playing it in an empty classroom or something), but the amount spent is probably roughly equivalent. I thought Magic The Gathering was a racket; what, a game which you can win by spending more money, and can only be competitive in by making routine purchases ? Then again, if you saw the size of my Garbage Pail Kid collection, you'de see we've all had our own vices. Either way, despite their relatively low budgets, kids can be the best customers if you capture them (not literally). Plus, you acclimate them to gambling, so you can grab the real money when they grow up. Me? I only play craps.
