Update #2: A big thanks to everyone who applied! The beta is now full. Those of you who got in will be able to keep in touch through email and the Run Fox Run Beta forums. If you missed your chance but would like to follow along with how the game is progressing you can check out @runfoxruniphone on twitter. Update: Now accepting a few more beta testers to get some feedback from fresh eyes on Story mode, Endless mode, Achievements, Mini-game(s), and the in-game tutorial. Apply here: http://www.runfoxrun.com/beta-test/ Here's a hi-res screen of the new Endless mode: Hey guys, There's this new game coming out that you probably haven't heard of called Run Fox Run. I've kept it to myself for the long time I've been developing it but now it's time to face the harsh criticisms of those with fresh eyes and a fresh mindset. And I do hope to receive some harsh criticisms so that I know what to improve! Anyhow, here's a screenshot to grab your attention: Sign up for the beta here: www.runfoxrun.com (click on Join the Beta!) What's the game about? It's a run-and-jump game influenced by the great Canabalt and pioneering Super Mario Bros. You are the fox and you've gotten yourself lost in portals trying to find your way home. So you have run from one portal to the next through different worlds with different art styles and different game modes. What are some features? - Story mode with over half an hour of gameplay - Main menu minigame - Random elements make it a different experience every time you play - Five different styles of artwork At least, that's what the beta has so far, but soon to come are also: - Endless mode - Leaderboards and achievements - Unlockables (e.g. another character, another game mode) - Credits minigame Everyone with any iOS device is welcome to sign up for the beta. TestFlight will be used for getting the app. If you have an iPhone 4, you should still sign up, but my closed beta so far consists of 80% iPhone 4 users so I'm looking for other devices to see how the game's performance differs. Good luck and have fun!
There are more screenshots on the website (runfoxrun.com) but I was talking more about the beta. Wow, it's great that there are so many applications already! Everyone who applied so far is accepted and should have received an email. It says it's from the "Run Fox Run team" but that's just me at the moment. Just using that handle incase the "team" grows in the future. So in the next couple of days I'll probably be getting your responses through TestFlight's automated system. With that, I'll have what I need to include everyone in the next beta build. The next build will be out later this week.. I'm thinking Friday so you guys will have the weekend to blast through the game and give some feedback.
Thank you for giving me this chance to test a game. I've just installed my advice via testflight. I'm eager to get the build now.
JeNeI, the game should be available in the TestFlight app on your iPad. I should mention that I'm only accepting one device per beta tester due to the limitation on the number of beta testing devices Apple lets us use. So the device that you put in the beta application form will be the device used to beta test.
Looking for a few more beta testers for the final stretch of beta testing. See the update in the first post.
