'Cheese Collect' gives you a hat as an award, much like Flickitty. I just had the pleasure of updating my version of 'Cheese Collect' to find a nice surprise. By naming the mouse 'Flickitty', instead of a hat he gets Flicks head. This isn't the first instance of seeing a game reference from within another game. But it is still fun none-the-less. Flickitty has a banner system that can be used to push urgent message or news. For the most part, we haven't seen any bugs that are severe enough to warn people, so MindJuice and I decided to use the banner to promote 'Charmed'. We didn't realize that Charmed would be Featured the following day. The Charmed banner within Flickitty has been viewed by at least 1427 unique Flickitty players over the last 2 days (it is only downloaded once and stored on the device). Currently, the banner links to the Charmed Lite- we need to switch it to Charmed (full version) since it is now Featured.
Yeah he asked my permission- if I remember correctly he is a 14-year-old from Singapore (I think?) Anyway, I sent all the hats to him so that he could choose one that fits. Since Flicks head is technically a hat, that is the one he chose.
I'm all for easter egg exchanges, we are indie developers we can do anything we want. I was going to steal the cat from Cheese Collect for our next update but I ran out of time. So he'll probably appear in the update after.
Hahahaha thats good stuff. Well thats cool, crossover are always fun and a good way to get other apps noticed.
It's really great you are supporting other indies, so how did you choose to work with Charmed? Any chance we can firm an alliance? I'm thinking of forming sort of an AppTreasure group, so indies can help indies. Any one interested?
