Probably for the Ipad etc.. not for Iphone.. Don't think there will be a version for that... it's just too tiny for a game like this.
I see that the price is $9.99... Even if it was $29.99 it's going to be an instant buy.. even though there are some IAP's for it. Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition for iPad contains the following enhancements: New Adventure: The Black Pits New Character: Dorn Il-Khan as an in-app purchase New Character: Neera the Wild Mage as an in-app purchase New Character: Rasaad yn Bashir New Player Voice sets as an in-app purchase New Player Portraits as an in-app purchase Gamecenter Support allows you to keep track of your friends and invite them to play with you
Yeah, I cannot see myself fully supporting this. I love this game, I love Bg2. I want them to make more. Especially Planescape Torment!
Probably because of the extremely low average low prices on games on the AppStore, they've made the decision to release the core original complete game for $9.99 and new content at an additional $9.99. I think it's a wise decision. The complete original game with the original expansion pack alone will provide between 80-100 hours of gameplay, and that's conservative. With new content DLC's it'll jump with around 20-30 hours of gameplay. A great offer IMO.. I'm gonna buy the whole package on release day for my iPad, and have already pre-ordered the game for my pc. Only 15 days to go...
So all the new content is IAP? I guess it's no different than buying an expansion pack, as long as the prices are reasonable. Don't see myself buying new voices or portraits for more than a buck or two. Just getting a quality port alone is certainly worth $10. Edit: Paying attention, I now see that one character and the adventure are included in the price of admission. I might be willing to pay for the rest as a "tip" for a job well done.
Please note, we're paying a total of 29.95 (base + IAP) for what pc/Mac users are getting for 29.95. They have said this in the forums. They had specific reason they had to do it this way, but I don't recall why.
Yeah, LCDDreams is right. It'll be $19.95 for the original game (with expansion pack), and new content (voice packs, new characters, portraits etc.).
Probably just trying to get pricing more in-line with similar products in the App Store while trying not to alienate desktop gamers. A tough line to walk, for sure. Anyway, I'm not complaining. This means I get to pick and choose which expanded features I really want (can't wait to try the wild mage).
Here's a new and interesting interview with Trent Oster, President of Beamdog: http://www.shacknews.com/article/76686/baldurs-gate-enhanced-interview-making-a-classic-better Lots of insight into the development of Baldur's Gate: EE. Unfortunately no new screenshots, but a promise of new promotional material coming soon. Yay.
Exactly ! If we all buy it we might get the other game/expansion series. If people wait for a price drop etc and they dont make as much as they thought we wont stand a chance. Buy buy buy when its out !
If we all buy it... ...maybe we can get them to port Planescape:Torment. Easily my favorite of these titles. Morte FTW.
According to the developers, both the Icewind Dale games and Planescape Torment is on their list of games they'd love to enhance if their permitted to do so financially, (again, depends on sales of the BG series), and can get the ok from the IP owners. Of course, their, (and my), biggest hope is that they'll be able to make Baldur's Gate 3 sometime in the future....
"Wiping Dreamshadow's forehead gently with a wet towel"... Here, here.. It'll all be alright. Just you wait and see. Only 10 days left now... Only 10 days...
