But "Like on Facebook" isn´t conditions for playing! It is only for more(3 levels) levels. Basic level packs with 130 stages is free without any conditions. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #5 nightc1, Nov 24, 2012 For some folks it's unexceptable to put level in that can only be unlocked through Facebook or twitter or whatever. I'd be one of those folks that frown on it as well simply because it penalizes me for choosing not to be on those sites. DBC Chester_Copperpot Member Nov 21, 2012 18 0 0 #7 Chester_Copperpot, Nov 25, 2012 ^^ Another likewise. It's a lame hook and I'm not signing up for Facebook. anims Active Member Feb 18, 2011 43 0 0 #8 anims, Nov 25, 2012 Can't you just ignore them? Look around, all free game have something like this!(and much worse) This is another way how developer can communicate to you. And if you don´t want to use, you lost only 6% of all levels in game. Another way is fake account if you want this. MidianGTX Well-Known Member Jun 16, 2009 3,738 10 38 #9 MidianGTX, Nov 25, 2012 It's either a bonus or a penalty, it can't be both. Getting something as a bonus doesn't mean you're being penalized if you don't get it, it means you're getting the regular experience. Requiring Facbook to unlock the core game would be a penalty, but if you ask me, this is additional content. Groove Coaster Zero awards you extra tracks if you bought the original game. Does this mean everyone else is being penalized for not buying it? Ubisoft titles award unlockable extras for participating in uPlay, coffee stores offer discounts for being a member, grocery stores offer deals on certain combinations of items, parking in certain areas is only free between specific times, sporting events might only be available to people with specific TV packages. Once you start speaking out against deals and incentives, you're pretty much attacking everything, so good luck with that. It's a lot faster to set up a fake Facebook account with no personal details on it and just use it for posting garbage from within games. You won't have "sold out" to "the man", you'll be as normal as everyone else on the planet. indalico Well-Known Member Aug 25, 2011 660 0 16 ohio #10 indalico, Nov 25, 2012 I'm not a fan of facebook, though I have done things to get some rewards. I just un"like" or delete my shares or whatever afterward. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #11 nightc1, Nov 25, 2012 Sure it can be both. You think you aren't ... I think I am. As you can see, others here feel the same way as I do while I'm sure tons of folks with Facebook wouldn't care at all since they aren't penalized by it. And let's be honest here, the only reason for the Facebook bonuses is that devs want you to advertise their games in a forced kind of way. It's one thing when a dev gives you extra in game currency for doing it that I can earn by playing the game. It's another to cut content out and call it a bonus for those that jump through the hoops on another service. Case in point, Extreme Road Trip 2. One of my favorite free games right now. You can earn everything in game by playing the game. The IAP is optional. Then we get to the facebook deal. I get 2000 coins for signing into facebook through a special link. I'll pass... but I'm not penalized because I can earn 2000 coins in game by playing it for 10 minutes. If they locked cars behind that deal, I'd be just as much against that. More so if it was a "pay" game that I paid for... but still even free I'd complain about it. Sure you can cheat and set up a fake account and all that. But you probably are the same person that sees a company make a fighting game and cut out a couple characters which later they sell for $0.99 each which unlock the character which is already coded into the game.. and you probably think... it's cool. I don't. Discount cards are different. They don't get you access to a special part of the store because you are also a card holder at some unrelated store. Instead they are applied for in the same store and apply to the often grossly overpriced items in that store which would be a ripoff to buy otherwise. I get it, you want the game to succeed. Instead of calling people names, maybe try to see someone else's point of view? It's not like anyone you're insulting is going to say, "Wow, now that someone told me not to cry, I really have an interest in this game." You want to advertise for a developer and surrender personal information just to play a complete version of this game, awesome. I don't. Ironically, the more "conversations" like this one continue, the more people end up with a negative vibe about the very thing being so earnestly promoted. Edit: "If you want all content just get paid version." Uhm, this isn't the paid version? Oh my, this just gets better... MidianGTX Well-Known Member Jun 16, 2009 3,738 10 38 #16 MidianGTX, Nov 26, 2012 Let's take a look from both perspectives. A developer needs visibility for his app so that he can continue with his ideal career and keep providing entertainment for you guys in the incredibly difficult environment that is the App Store. On a platform where word of mouth is so powerful and desperately needed, yet the consumers are so greedy and incredibly lazy, asking for a like on Facebook is hardly the same thing as paying for a good review score. Likes mean practically nothing in terms of how good a game is, they're thrown around and by themselves are meaningless. What they can do however, is provide that little bit of extra recognition that may equal one more sale. It's a plea for help from a person (or people) who have done their part in making your day just a little bit more fun. Then there's your argument. You just can't be bothered because you don't like Facebook. All those free levels aren't enough. Even if you were my own son I'd tell you to grow the hell up and look at the bigger picture. smes3817 Well-Known Member Oct 15, 2009 1,120 8 38 Massachusetts, USA #17 smes3817, Nov 26, 2012 Hey someone who actually gets it! It is absolutely a plea for help just to get the word spread about their game. They aren't even forcing you to press 'like', it's an added bonus. They gave you their hard work in a gamble that you can help them out in one way or another since they weren't getting their $0.99. I'm not the dev, just one of the serious gamers on the ios scene that loves gaming. I don't use it as an example for no good reason, it's IMO the perfect example if a game done right.
