Rocking Pocket Games is proud to announce our latest game, Mech Pilot. Mech Pilot is an epic scifi shooter that has you protecting cities from an invading alien threat. It features an advanced 3D engine that includes full scene dynamic shadows, specular and bump mapping, and god rays. Visit the Mech Pilot website for screenshots and movies. Mech Pilot is very early in development and we are aiming for a spring 2012 release date.
Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel http://youtu.be/HbsqycSv4m8 Here is a new video of the progress, showing laser weapons, sounds, and a few enemies (no AI at this point). I've also changed back to a dpad for aiming so your fingers aren't in the way of targets.
Here are a couple more screenshots of the work in progress on Mech Pilot. I am working on all of the logic and weapons for each vehicle at the moment.
The graphics have polished up nicely. Here's hoping the gameplay can match it. Looking forward to this.
Just wanted to let you know of a quick update. The website has been redesigned and will feature new content in the coming months. I am aiming for a fall release date, with 5 or 10 missions, with additional packs of 5 mission available as DLC. It is going to require IOS 6 so it won't be out before IOS 6 is released.
The game will run at 960x640 regardless of the device. With full scene shadows and god rays it's not fast enough to run at the full new iPad resolution.
The Game looks amazing! It reminds me a lot of the Xbox original "MechAssault". I hope this game comes out soon, Is there any definitive Release Date? Also Pricing? IAP? Thanks
I think it is going to be $1 for 5 missions at launch, with packs of 5 additional missions for $1 each as IAP's.
No way to dodge yet. I may add a shield that blocks incoming fire. Right now you have to upgrade your health and weapons to survive longer. Another video showing the different weapons and first level. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Very Good idea, At the very least you should include a pair of Jets to propel the Mech Upwards, left or right, to dodge the enemys Fire in a very agile way, instead of lazily using a shield.
Agreed. Take away the ability to defend yourself and you take away much of the skill aspect of the game and make it more about grinding. It does look great, though.
I would love to hear what you guys think. There is still time for me to add things before the game is released.
