Take the brawling mechanic of GTA 3, improve the controls, add blocking and special skills, then combine it with a simplified territory-based strategy game, and you get Syndicate City. It also reminds me a bit of The Warriors, though with a much looser narrative and without the exploration component. The brawling is pretty satisfying, especially when you are dealing with more than one enemy. Running nowadays a Gang isn`t really that much of a big deal considering that all you have to do is choose between three different Gang Types and afterwards you already jump into the Story/Tutorial that will teach you the Core Gameplay of the Game and how to survive in this hard Gang World. As you play through the Game more and more parts of the Game will open up to you and you will be able to not only Fight your Life through the different Regions of the Game and that way earn some hard $$$ in the Game but too other Members will join your Gang and expand your possibility to call those during your fights so they can help you once you reach a point where you health are low or where their Fight Style might fit better. With the Money you earn you will be able to upgrade your Fighters or your Gang HQ and with each Level up you will be able to upgrade your Stats a bit more so you pretty much will be able to grind through some of the lower Levels faster once you reach a high enough Level since at the current moment there is no Timer that would hold you back from simply replaying those Missions over and over again to grind for more money. Besides those Story - Fights you have also the possibility in the Game to let your Gang run through the City Parts you might have already liberated to gain some more Money every couple of Mintues (20-30. Minutes Time Window) Besides that you will sooner then later be also able to Gamble in the Game in a Card Game where you will be able to earn Gold which seem to far one of those InGame Values you can only earn either by playing through the Game itself on a daily base or/and buy those in the Game for some real $$$ or obtain those as already mentioned through Gambling. The Game is split up in eight Cities that are each on their own have again two Parts. One Story Part (Target) and one that is some kinda of an Clicker Game (Exercise) in the Game with an 60. Minutes Timer in which you can own earn InGame $$$. In those Story-Parts (Target) you will play through some Fights where the among of Fighters you have to beat is constandly increased with each new Level and at the end of each City you will fight against an harder Boss and his homies. The Fighting Part might on the first take really look very easy but the deeper you get into the Game you will realize that you most of the time won`t make it throgh those shorts Fighting Rounds later in the Game if you only will smash the Hit Button without using the Block Button in a very careful way to survive those harder fights in the Game. Conclusion: I kinda like Syndicate City: Anarchy/Syndicate Wars: Anarchy but Cyscorpions Inc., should really consider finally after more then one year strarting to fix some of those Glitches in the Game that have been around already more then a hole year. Besides complete missing Textures on the small Maps and low-quality Textures where the Game sometimes does look like I would play it straight on my old iPhone 2/3GS the Team back at Cyscorpions Inc., needs to add more Animation since some of the later Fighting Moves that you unlock as you Level up really look like just cut into the Game without polishing them at all Again: Syndicate City: Anarchy/Syndicate Wars: Anarchy isn`t a total bad Game and I kinda enjoyed even some of the Grinding in the Game but Cyscorpions Inc., really need to step up their QA as soon as possible. Rating: 3/5 - If Cyscorpions will fix those above mentioned Bugs/Glitches in the Game I will increase my Rating to 4/5. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,532 1,058 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #5 squarezero, Apr 25, 2016 That's a fair assessment, Sanuku. My only quibble is that I think that the brawler mechanics here are actually quite good, compared to similar games in the App Store. Things like targeting, blocking, and movement just work, which is more than I can say for the Gangstars and the GTAs. Might be issues with the name of course as Syndicate Wars was a golden classic.
