Not all games necessarily need retina display support. X2 Soccer 10/11 has 3GS enhancement, but it looks great on my ipod 4G. There are a few jagged lines and slight pixelation, but aside from the cut scenes, detailed stadium crowds and lighting, the gameplay graphics rival those of FIFA 11. With that being said, it would be even nicer to have 4G optimized graphics.

The best option for universal is like what Rage does.

Have a HD universal version, for retina and ipad.
Then have a cheaper iPhone only version.

Hope more devs would follow that.
Last I checked Rage is still the only one.

While I can understand the reasoning behind the 2 separate releases...
You know the number of iPhones sold vs iPad is like over 3 to 1.
So theres still alot of people who has iPhone but dont have iPads. Why should they pay for the universal code?
They are basically offering cheaper version to all those people and hopefully increase sales.

Then again if you look at the bright side, buying both version is still cheaper than buying the xbox or ps3 version.
And to think that 2 days ago I almost bought the Steam version... 20 bucks also. whew.

Be happy to have the opportunity, to have this on iOS.

I played Tomb Raider, on the PS1 and PC...and followed the series sporadically all the way through the latest full retail release, Tomb Raider: Underworld.

Great series, looking forward to it on iPad.

    About the retina whining:

The iPad version of Infinity Blade has NONE of the specualar, bump, reflective or shadow maps available on the iPhone 4/iPod touch 4 and even the 3GS versions.

The result: flat looking armor and weapons. There's none of the glinting or shadowing on your characters weapons and armor.

It looks less than ideal in comparison.

    Do I love the game?

    Hell yes!

Did looking worse stop my purchase?

    Hell no!

Do I wish it had the bells and graphical whistles?

    Hell yes!

Will I continue to love and cherish the games awesome game play?

    Hell yes!

Look, I'm as big of a graphics whore as anyone. Yet, I grew up with the original Atari and NES. When I bring myself to reality and realize a great game is a great game, I get a reality check.

The resolution isn't gonna ruin a great experience.

    So what?

The iPad is capable of more. Not every developer pushes it (Epic), will that stop my enjoyment - I'm just happy to experience these titles on iOS.

I think you guys make too big a deal when a game doesn't support retina display. Would it be nice to have yes, does it ruin games no. That's like saying you could never play a ps2 or xbox game now days because they aren't in high def.

This was an awesome game on the Xbox 360. Would have definitely gotten this game for the iPad if I didn't get the 360 version. I'll probably get it in the far future if there is ever a 99 cent deal. Looks like a pretty good portable version though.

Couldn't care about retina display to be fair. At least the game itself is on iOS, ive got it on the 360, and its really good fun!

If this looks anywhere near the xbox live version, Im sold. Can anyone confirm that?

Edit: nvm, just read killercow's review. It looks great, is the multiplayer coop working out well? I dont see why they wouldnt update it for retina sometime down the road, a lot of apps are being pushed for release due to the itunes freeze.

Didn't expect it to look like the XBLA version. But has there been any confirmation that it has all the same content/levels?

I'd lean towards Dungeon Hunter 2. All the reviews for the iPhone version are praises.
