Thanks though who knows maybe we have notoriety and that's why people are unsure Either this game has received some major praise and I hope people take advantage of this price point. 148apps gave us Editors Choice, touch Arcade have us 4.5/5, a metacritic score of 83, we have gained major publisher interest, and are looking at being reviewed on television. Just don't want people to disregard and miss out on the awesome feedback this game is getting. We are very proud of the title and hope people don't shy away by pre conceived notions nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #14 nightc1, Oct 25, 2012 A friend over at another site I post on mentioned this game and I read the review here and watched the video feature where they play the game. At $3 and seeing inApp in Kunundrum (though not really sure what they were for), I felt a bit uneasy. But seeing the dev here and the $0.99 price point I just made the purchase. I know $0.99 isn't that much overall... but it's so much easier to give a dev I'm not super familiar with a chance at that price point. I know $2.99 isn't that much either but then I could give 3 devs a chance at the $0.99 price point which is a lot less risk overall. I hope y'all sell a million copies so it pays off. And please avoid changing the game to include inApp. Some cheaters may be willing to pay for it... and some may want it to just support the dev... but it becomes really hard to trust a developer when they go in and change a game you paid for like that. Build up a solid reputation and I think people will support that with a purchase. HTWGames Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2011 271 0 16 Game Developer Toronto/Vancouver http://www.htwgames.com #15 HTWGames, Oct 25, 2012 It's interesting to see that people have a lot of prejudice against ads or IAP, yet most of the games that tend to get the support are freemium that are riddled with these things hahaha Honestly, that bar during the load up sequence is a Cross Promo bar. We make 0 dollars off of that and Kunundrum is our own title, so really all we're saying is here's another game of ours if you'd like to check it out, during a loading screen. The people that put reviews up on our game that warn people of ads or whatnot and then give us low review scores are really negative and it's upsetting but you can't do anything about it. We are NOT and WILL NOT put IAP into this title. You can take my word as a guarantee as I'm an owner in the company and I will not allow IAP to go into this game. That's not the way the game was built nor will it be implemented in that fashion. We understand that there is a lot of worry about a dollar here a dollar there in this market. This is why we dropped the price again. We get it, and understand that people are concerned...but the problem is with all the prejudice people won't realize how much fun they could be having for a measly dollar. We're industry 'vets' if you'd like to call it that, and we have the opportunity to exploit a lot of talent if we can get the capital. But without the support from people like you, we will have to go find other jobs. And that is the sad thing... So if you can, by all means let people know about this title. With all the press we have, it's great to see the support, but we fall short on some leads somehow...such as IGN or Gamespot, etc. I understand mobile games aren't the be all end all, but we feel we have something special here and I'm trying my best to get the word out, but without a massive angel investor, we are running on out of pocket budgets. Imagine what we could have done with say 500k poured into this. Anyway we're really happy you enjoyed it, and we're sorry if we put you into a position where you couldn't decide what do to. That's not in our interests... we want to make this sustainable, but not at the cost of the users trust or enjoyment. So don't believe those trolls posting crap on the reviews(and seriously theres like one or two...) this game is solid, extensive, will NOT abuse or pine for your dollar. We just want you to have fun and sustain a community of support. defred34 Well-Known Member Aug 27, 2012 1,408 0 0 Earth #16 defred34, Oct 25, 2012 Last edited: Oct 25, 2012 I absolutely could! Anyway, I hope you guys make a couple of hundred k at least, and put effort into a Polara sequel with better graphics or come up with an insane new IP! PS: I realized the Android version is doing very poorly too. It got 4.5/5 from Droidgamers, which is good. And it has a 4.8/5 rating on Google Play. I think just give the game some time to naturally grow. Don't keep changing the price all the time. The moment you get featured by Google, your stock will rise! There are a lot of devs that go the freemium route and have adds clog up and slow down their games and those are the ones I may download to try (because it's free) but they are also the ones that quickly end up deleted after I try them. So it's more past experience and also seeing how other devs pull the rug out from under the consumer later and throw in inApp (especially tweaking the game so you can't finish it without them). I hope freemium will end up like the tech bubble. Same for reality tv . It sounds like your company is on the right track to success. I appreciate your assurances that there won't be any inapp or stuff like that in this game. As a long time (11 years) IGN forum poster (though not much these days) and even someone that wrote freelance for them for a short while, I'm actually really disappointed at their coverage of iOS gaming. That's the reason I went looking for sites that covered iOS gaming. IGN as a whole has been on a huge decline over the last few years... still I get the AppStore Update as an email reminder when it's published and they featured Polara in the Email as well as had it in yesterday's update. So hopefully that helps spread the word. TouchArcade's video where they play the game coupled with the price point and your comments in this thread is what pushed me over the edge. Once I dig into the game (as I just got it literally as I was posting earlier)... I'll be sure to review it and post something back here. It seems like it's something I'll enjoy mastering. Just so you know, the iphone 5 update is in Apple's hands and will be coming. As for the retina graphics, I'm redoing the game as we speak...it'll take a bit of time as it's a one man show on this side of the fence in the graphics dept. So I'm trying my best to get it done, but it's hard to double the res of your game half way through when hardware pops out. No excuses though...just letting people know that the graphics on the ipad3 are not supposed to be soft at all. Hopefully I'll get it done within a few weeks, but that's a years worth of work to reproduce in that time. Anyway blah blah blah, just keep at the game, there's some really intense and cool platforming in it. Hope you dig it bro!
